Cat is a class act. Steve has said and done nothing to make me think he has the class in his whole body that Mobes has in his little toe. I haven't heard anything about being thrilled to still be paired with Cat if the trade goes down. Maybe I missed it.

Francis is really getting me pissed off. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Steve.

I meant Stevie being the angry part and Mobley being just disappointed. Cato doesn't seem to give a **** or have a say in the matter, basically because he's over in the corner by himself getting stoned.

Keep in mind I didn't see the interview so I can't speak for body language or tone of voice, just by what is expressed in this thread.

    Deuce,

I'd hope that once TMac gets comfortable with the idea of playing and winning rings with Yao here in Houston for the next 5-6 years, that he'd refuse to agree to sign any extension with whatever team that tries to get TMac.

It sucks that Mobes has to go. But that's the business. Hopefully we can get him back later on in the future.

I love Cuttino, don't want to see him go but he understands the need of the organization.Steve has a harder time accepting it.
I fear that this trade may collapse because of him.

T-Mac supporing ONLY Houston in this trade might be the ONLY thing that is saving us. That might be enough to scare other teams off.

I've been a francis supporter but he is showing his true colors again.

See ya Steve. Too bad you were never as good as you thought your were. :(

As I said before, my observation of the interview was that Cat was sad.

Almost like someone stole his wife and his dog ran away.

He seemed resigned though, and basically said that he loves to play basketball and that he has prepared himself for this.

see francis is the type if he doesnt get his way he will pout until he does... this could hurt us in different ways..

    1. if he ruins the t mac trade.

    2. if he complains when hes back with the team and when we try and deal him again he will probably complain until hes with washington or something and try and screw us from getting players.

He really needs to grow up its sickening. I like how cat views the trade a lot differently then steve does. He may not like the deal but hey he will go wherever he just wants to play the game he loves.

And what if the deal doesn't go down? Management isn't going to want to keep Francis, especially after this. And what we get for him, in another deal, might be hurt by his actions in attempting this deal. I was feeling sorry for Francis, but it's part of the business, like you said. Acting this way and mucking up a deal like this, if that happens, is something else altogether.

I think Cat will adapt to whatever we do and wherever he lands... if it's going to Orlando, somewhere else, or staying here.

Just to be a doomsayer and get it out of my system...

This could be a TOTAL disaster for the Rockets. Not only would they lose out on McGrady, but it is likely they would have to deal at least Francis and Mobley because of their hurt feelings. What is even WORSE is that they would, IN NO WAY, get the same value in another deal because teams would KNOW the Rockets had to unload the players and would low-ball them.

We could go from McGrady to a deal for a bunch of role-players. We could go from one of the biggest and most significant trades in the history of Houston sports to one of the most disastorous the franchise has ever seen. From boom to bust.

And, I tell you something, if that GM from Orlando backs out after all this, NO ONE is going to trust him in this league. Every GM will assume that he is going to screw them just like he did the Rockets, especially because CD is very well-respected around the league as is the entire organization. DeVoss isn't well liked to begin with. This could make it worse.

What a friggin' nightmare. I knew I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up.

Ah, better. Now, I can get back to normal speculation and level-headedness. :D

Sorry. I honestly don't see all that happening. I just needed to say it so I could feel better. Think of it as a temper tantrum. :D

Not to mention that the Magic would more than likely be forced to settle for less in exchange for McGrady. Orlando needs to just make the deal. Steve will play for them. He has no choice. If he keeps being a whiny b****, then there are plenty of suitors out there.

I didn't see anybody mention this:

On SportsCenter, Stein said that Rockets management got Yao's blessing on the trade.

No way Francis can remain a Rocket now. Yao would never see the ball again :D

Damn you! I think we've all been having these exact same thoughts, but we didn't want to actually acknowledge them!
