McGrady To Houston Thread (Update: Francis will visit Orlando)

Couple clarifications...

Palillo said, "Clearly, the ball must be in Orlando's court..." That did NOT come from the Rockets. That was Palillo's speculation.

Second, David Dalati reported earlier today that Francis' people have softened their stance on Orlando today and they are not nor will they hold up the deal.

 

So you have to wonder what the hell is the hold up? It HAS to be on Orlando's part. Like I said, I bet Orlando is holding this entire thing up so they can find a 3rd team to trade Francis to.

 

610 just reported the Francis to Seattle for Allen deal saying it was a rumor. If I had to guess, I'd say Orlando is trying to make a second deal to move Francis.

 

I think the holdup is Orlando trying to deal Steve to Seattle for Ray Allen. I know it shouldn't really be affecting our deal, but it's my guess Orlando wants to ship Steve directly without him even setting foot in Orlando.

 

I keep hearing Washington for Arenas and Seattle for Allen. Kinda funny the Allen angle because we even speculated that a Francis for Allen deal would be good for us before we even entertained the McGrady deal. Hopefully if that is what Orlando wants they can get it done tomorrow ASAP. And if I had my druthers I would love to see Francis in Washington a) cause it is his home town and he should be happy there and b) it is in the eastern conference.

 

Where did this Francis fot Allen deal come from ?

 

I am sure Orlando Management wants to put on a good front so when they make the McGrady deal they can present ALL of the players that are coming to Orlando versus doing a piecemeal type deal. I guess on the surface that makes them look better for this megadeal?

Mark Berman on KRIV-26 interviewed Cat and he said he is happy to play in the NBA and he doesn't want to leave Houston, but it is something he thinks they have to do.

He also said he feels differently than Steve about the trade.

Berman says that Orlando ownership is uncomfortable with Francis not wanting to play there. Oh, boy.

 

If there are other offers that doesn't bring that much headache to Orlando we might see a swing of trade talks tomorrow, unless they can unload Francis to another team and they get a good deal out of it.
