I wonder if Boki or Cato could be traded, then waived, then return to us, a la Augmon in the Pippen deal. It may be that we want Gaines and ORL wants him gone and that Boki's in the deal for cap considerations.

If all four of these guys are gone, the only Rockets from one year ago will be Taylor and Yao. If we succeed in moving Mo, Yao will be the only player left from "the most talented team ever assembled."

There is no way they'll waive Cato. It's unlikely they'd waive Boki either. If anything similiar to that were to take place, it'd be more likely to come from our side. They're the ones trying to replenish their roster in return for McGrady. We're the ones sacrificing depth for the bigger star.

If they really want to turn around and move Steve for Allen or Arenas...what if Mobley is not even in the deal? It would work without him...

Houston trades: PG Steve Francis (16.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 6.2 apg in 40.4 minutes)
    C Kelvin Cato (6.1 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 1.0 apg in 25.3 minutes)
SF Bostjan Nachbar (3.1 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.7 apg in 11.5 minutes)
Houston receives: PG Tyronn Lue (10.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 4.2 apg in 30.7 minutes)
PF Juwan Howard (17.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 2.0 apg in 35.5 minutes)
SG Tracy McGrady (28.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 5.5 apg in 39.9 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +29.7 ppg, +1.6 rpg, and +3.8 apg.

Orlando trades: PG Tyronn Lue (10.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 4.2 apg in 30.7 minutes)
PF Juwan Howard (17.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 2.0 apg in 35.5 minutes)
SG Tracy McGrady (28.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 5.5 apg in 39.9 minutes)
Orlando receives: PG Steve Francis (16.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 6.2 apg in 79 games)
    C Kelvin Cato (6.1 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 1.0 apg in 69 games)
SF Bostjan Nachbar (3.1 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.7 apg in 45 games)
Change in team outlook: -29.7 ppg, -1.6 rpg, and -3.8 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Of course Mobley is in the deal. It's in their best interest to get as much out of us as they can. They can get him out of us so they'd be fools not to take him. He has trade value if nothing else.

What are the local Sports Radio stations saying about the progress in the McGrady/Francis deal so far? What's the hold up? Do we even know for sure "ALL" of the people that will be traded?

The last thing I heard on 610 is that there is nothing new, the ball is in Orlando's court. They were told by the rockets that there will be no announcement tonight.

I agree it's highly unlikely they'd waive Cato. Probably not Boki either, but I sure was shocked when we waived Augmon just because he didn't want to be here. Remember, they don't necessarily want all these players. They just want what value they can get (as we did when Pippen put us in the same bad position McGrady put them in). We don't know for sure Boki equals value to them. And even if he does, it's not more value than Augmon represented to us.

For myself, I like Boki but I hope it's him instead of Cato. Cato's still expensive but he's considerably better than the next backup center we'll sign and he's considerably better than JH or MT as a defensive stopper at the 4. With our soft 4's and our conditioning-challenged 5, we'll miss Cato bad if he goes.

How do you do a deal that Chad Ford, a modern day Jerry West at fantasy basketball speculation, says is a bad deal? Obviously the GM of Orlando is getting cold feet. Chad Ford has gotten into his head. It's not like Chad Ford is some guy who has never played professional basketball and just played organized baskteball in his gated community growing up in the suburbs. We're talking about Chad Ford here, and when he speaks, GM's listen.

Just kidding. But if this deal doesn't go down - Chad Ford!.....I'm coming for ya!

That is pretty funny. Damn, I would sign up just for the alert of the trade but I am sure they would keep on sending the rest of their crap to my address.

SO who have the Bobcat's selected so far?

They are restricted free agents that become unrestricted as soon as they were drafted by the Bobcats.

This sucks we have to wait around for Orlando. Our part of the deal is done. The deal should be consumated. Then let Orlando on a SEPERATE deal look to deal Francis if they wish. Ugh!

I guess Francis is pulling a McGrady and saying he won't do this and that and forcing a deal to be made.
