    I hate this trade.
    I hate this trade.

We will have no depth at all.

If we include Boki I am going to throw up in my mouth.

We are giving up way, way too much.

We would be better off moving Stevie (if that is the agenda) for a stud power foward. How about the number 1 or 2 pick in the draft?

We are going to be a lottery team next year if Lue, Horward, and TMac take the place of Stevie, Cat, Cato and Boki.

Last year we picked up JJ, Pike and Griffin for basically nothing. I thought that was pretty impressive. This year we have the TE and a bunch of pissed off "exposed" players. I have to think that we can fill in the 2/3 back up and PF back up. A serious starting PF is another story, and I assume will require a trade or somthing.

I don't watch much Eastern conference ball, so I know nothing about Gains. But I like Lue. He runs the break well and can be real spark plug off he bench. If he is our third string PG, we are in great shape at the point. If he is second string, I am ok, but not excited. I know Ollie sucked last year, but he was a part of that Philly team that had so much heart. I'm perfectly happy with him as our second PG.

I also like Howard over Gooden. Howard has weaknesses. First he is a classic Tweener, he is a bit old, and he WAS way overpaid. Now he is just overpaid. But I think he has all around skills and I like that. He also plays two positions, the four and the three. I have a problem with Gooden. A bit vauge here, but a while back I read something that scared me off of Gooden. I can't remember a critical detail, but what I remember was a beat writter saying that "West traded Gooden before the league realizrd he couldn't..." That is the part I can't remember - I know, big loss of credibility there - but it was something like pass, or guard the post, or something that was pretty serious. Besides, if West gave up on him, that says something.

Like many others here, I hate to see our core go. All three are real gamers, and I felt they worked hard to fit in with JVG. I have never been a real fan of Mobley, but I remember him getting a root canal at half time and playing with his mouth packedin cotton. You got to appreciate that. Francis always had his heart in the game. And I hae always like Cato. Even his first two yers when he was the ClutchCity whipping boy, I still thought he was OK.

On the other hand, Francis, Mobley and Cato for TMac, Howard, DeClerc and Lue seems like a pretty good deal.

I would give Pike another chance, he could be just what we need. I think the injury was a bid deal (look how long it took Cato and Taylor to come back from foot injururies). But salary aside, I think Pike for Ollie is a good deal for both teams.

    Go Rockets.

Gooden still has a shot to be a poor man's Jermaine O'Neal, but I doubt the Magic will deal him to us.

Howard reminds me a little of an older Shareef Abdur-Rahim. He's a pretty good player, though not worth such a long contract. And according to Chad Fraud, Orlando protected him.

There are still capable veterans that teams are shopping because of their contracts (you all know by now who I'm talking about). I hope we acquire some of them.

I think that should be our bluepring: Yao and McGrady as the pillars, surrounded by smart veterans with good character who play D.

So am I correct in understanding that the trade exception will not be used in this trade?

...And if so, am I also correct in assuming that we will still make another move this summer?

If what we've heard so far is correct then next yr line up is already starting to make sense, even if we don't pick up anyone else (though we may).

PG - Lue, Ollie, Wilks - Nothing fancy. All they have to do is protect the ball, run the occasional breaks and pass the rock to T Mac and Yao.

SG-SF: TMac, JJ, Boki, AG, Spoon. I would say we are OK here.

PF- Howard, MoT, Padgett. Howard can not dominate his position but he is a nice complement starting PF. He will knock down the 15 ft shots if opp double on Yao. MoT can be the primary low post scorer off the bench again. Pagget or Spoon can fill in in case of foul trouble.

C- Yao, De Clercq. We only need De Clercq to play 10 or 15 mins a game tops. De Clerq avg 16 mins for his career, shoots 50%, 5 pt, 4 rbs. He is an adequate backup. He might not be as good in defense as Cato but he is a better shot. We don't have a 3rd string C but neither did we, last yr. Again, we could use any of our PF for a short stretch like before.

I don't think our team is thin at all.

please don't give up Boki! I'd rather give Pike instead. We don't need Ollie once we get Lue. They are both back up pg.

    I'm not a Boki 'hata' i'm not a Boki 'fan' - i'm a Boki 'not knowa'.

Will someone explain all this love for a semi-talented bench warmer?

Our team is about to look like a 21st century kiddie pool...

    LACK OF DEPTH

    We should get T-Mac anyway.
