The Magic must trade for Moochie Norris and Walt Williams before Steve will agree to play there.
Also, he wants Superbowl tickets as a trade kicker.

I'm having a hard time believing Steve is holding this up. Let me review from Steve's point of view:

I'm being traded to beautiful Central Florida. My best friend shooting guard is coming with me, along with a center I've gotten very used to playing with. I'm going to a team that's pretty crappy right now, but they have the #1 pick in this week's draft where they'll fill the PF slot. There's even a small chance that Grant Hill can fill the SF slot. The team is in the Eastern Conference so we should be able to make the playoffs easily. The cherry on this sundae is that I will once again be the undisputed centerpiece of the team so I can play loose and free.

And I'm holding up this trade because?????

I just can't believe Steve would refuse to go to Orlando under these conditions. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until I hear a soundbite from him or a credible witness who heard it firsthand.

Forget McGrady and Orlando. If Chicago is a willing participant in this trade, let's just skip the middle man and pick up Chandler, Hinrich and J. Williams -- give them Cato on top of that.

    Dude, people, stop panicking.

Seriosuly, what the **** do Jim Gray and Peter dumb**** Vecsey know?!?! When was the last time Vecsey was right on anything???

Regardless of what Francis says, don't demonize him; it's not a repeat of Vancouver. When Cato and Mobley talk with him (if he really says he doesn't want to play ther or if someone twisted his words if he really said soemthing like he'd rather not play in Orlando, etc.) he'll go along.

It's not like a deal won't happen; I don't see it going down tonight though.

Sorry, if you knew what rape was all about, you wouldn't make a play on words. It's really bad, and the victims never recover...

    Just ask Yetti.

If all else fails I wouldn't mind taking the Chicago trade and keeping Cat. I still think Tyson is going to be a stud. Plus imagine a line-up with a 7'5" and a 7'1" shot blockers in the middle.

Kirk Hinrich / Ollie or Barry
    Cat / sign Brent Barry
    JJ / Boki
    Tyson Chandler / MoT
    Yao Ming / Cato

I wouldn't mind going into the season with that line up.

This is utterly ridiculous (if true).

Steve sure does know how to make a first impression. Somehow I doubt he'd be willing to sit out and give up his salary.

It's surprising, considering how attractive of a location that Orlando is amongst athletes.

Hell, he'd be in the East in McGrady's old situation, which means plenty of shot opportunities. Add Okafor to the mix, and you'd think he'd be happy.

Easier road to the playoffs and lots of chances to throw up field goals. Plus a defensive minded big man who won't take away from your shot attempts!

I guess we all know the stuff with Vancouver and wanting to be back on the east coast closer to his home was BS now.

Francis will play where ever he is traded if he wants to get paid! End of story.

I dont know about Vecsey...but apparently Jim Gray got his information from Francis' agent! That seems like a good source as any. If Francis' agent says Francis doesnt want to go to Orlando...what motivation does Francis' agent have to lie?

    This sucks!

Orlando is not going to want to take on Francis if he doesnt want to play there. It is a PR nightmare!

This is why I say he has no leverage. If I'm the Rockets, I make the deal pronto before SF has a chance run his mouth in the press potentially ruining the deal.
