Thats easier said than done, and if you were Tracy, knowing that you had way more to contribute then you would want to play as well. In my opinion trading this man right now would be flat out STUPID. Why? because there is nobody out there that you can aquire for just the remainder of the season and still keep yourself in the 2010 free agency running that would be worth trading him for. Also with that being said if we cant get Dwayne Wade, or Carmello then there is really not one other player out there with Tracy's potential when he is "healthy". My thing is if the man was truly hurt and now he is recovered, give the man a chance to show what he can do becasue at this point you have nothing to loose. Ariza is NOT a true SG, he is a SF. He is not a guy that you want shooting the ball off of the dribble becasue thats not his game. He is a set shooter like Battier and he needs to be fed the ball. If Ariza takes you off of the dribble he needs to go strong to the basket, NOT SHOOT. Everyone keeps talking about Chris Bosh but he is not the answer to what this team needs, we are straight at the PF position with an emerging All Star in Carl Landry. This team is now lacking a SG, which is where Tracy comes in and also a big man which we know that he will be back next season. At the end of the day, I am about basketball, not personality. Who cares what type of guy he is off of the court and what he says. And many of us are so quick to judge what he says when we dont have a clue what is like to be in his shoes. Daryl, finish the season out with Tracy and let his contract expire, if you dont like what you see then NO PROBLEM, youre now in the 2010 free agency running and you havent lost anything, however, if you trade him now and aquire someone with more years in their contract you make things more difficult for yourself by hurting your changes in the 2010. Call me old fashioned but I still would like to see the Yao, Tracy combination in the playoffs together becasue I truly believe that them together will lead us to the promise land. We have only seen them together once back when we lost to Dallas and Tim Donaghy has already admitted to everyone that he fixed that series. If you go back and watch games 3-6, you will see its very obvious. So I say lets stop focussing on what this man does and says off the court and concentrate on what he can on the court becasue regardless to what everyone says, we ALL know that when this guy is healthy, he is a BEAST!!!!!

While I feel your argument, let me explain why it doesn't work just letting him expire. The Rockets are over the Cap and currently over the Lux tax line, they are different amounts. If the Rocket's let Tmac expire, they only get $7 million to spend out of his $23 million dollar contract.... So, while it is an option, for sure, the smarter, more prudent option would be to acquire a guy making like $12 million and a poison pill contract or two, hopefully expiring next season..... That way instead of getting a $7 million dollar player to replace Tracy, you get a $12 million dollar one. That is why it is STUPID to let his contract expire...... Now it may be that no deal comes up, and that is the best option, but I doubt it......Bill Simmons wrote an excellent piece about the financials of the NBA......and both our owner and GM have talked about being predatory, I can not wait for that to happen. He mishandled last year's situation, but you're completely ignoring his previous efforts with the Rockets. In fact, it was his choice to play with a bump knee in order to keep the Rockets in the playoffs run several years ago when Yao went down. He had a choice to get it fixed earlier, but instead he kept the Rockets in the race. Of course, its his fault for his lack of efforts during rehab, and the way he handled the situation after was just as bad. I'm asking you to simply not jump the gun when you are quick to absolve bone headed and equally selfish players like Wafer. When there is confirmation, then his criticism is justified. Otherwise, you should give him at least a quarter of the special treatment you give Wafer and Brooks.
