I'm actually impressed that most CF posters were able to see right through that masterful cut, paste and spin job by the FanHouse writer.

After watching the game last night, frankly I would have been surprised if McGrady wasn't a little frustrated about what did amount to another useless 7 minute cameo. Trevor Ariza was so awful last night, it was amazing. He was offensive poison out there -- the Rockets were basically playing four-on-five with him on the court, and he still played way too many minutes. Even JT was remarkably more effective in his stint, and he still got sent to the bench prematurely. I guess maybe I still don't get it ... this "plan" by Morey and Adelman for Ariza. Last night Ariza was just useless. This was the worst that I feared after Chase's injury, and alas, it has come to pass.

Talk about "ball stopper"? Ariza last night was the epitome of a ball stopper. The ball would swing around fluidly until it arrived in his hands. Then he would hesitate, pass up an open shot if he had it, take an awkward dribble or two into nowhere, stumble back out to the three point line, and then swing it back. The ball ends up in Brooks or Lowry's hands with 7 seconds to go. Manufacture tough shot. Rinse, lather, repeat. I lost count of how many beautiful offensive plays were mercilessly slaughtered in the hands of Ariza last night. It was like watching an epic tragedy or something. And he wasn't even playing good defense. McGrady struggled on defense during his short stint, but at least he has the excuse of not having played with these guys and lacking some necessary chemistry (same type of mistakes we saw with the entire team earlier in the season). Ariza was just making bad mistakes all night long. Leaving his feet, overcommitting, fouling jump shooters -- if not for Battier last night would have been an early and complete blowout. JT was playing great defense when he was on the floor. Why didn't he play more? Ugh.

Indeed. The guy just can't keep a lid on it and will ruin the team chemistry with more of this selfish nonsense.

Those who want TMAC Playing more . .. Go on and Spell it out for me
    we at 17-12 now

If Tmac's minutes were doubled in his time back . . . what would our record be?

We are on pace to win 50 games.
Does inserting Tracy back with 20~30 minutes make us a 60 win team?
    55?

Let me know . . . Seriously. . LET ME KNOW what would be you expectation!

Well, seeing as this is Rocket City, we'd be happy to send you. See ya!

Thought this was still about his getting back into rotation due to coming back from serious surgery?

    # Tracy entered the game at the 7:30 mark in the 1st to a heavy chorus of boos. This came as a surprise. I didn’t think he was relevant enough to garner such a reaction. On this night, despite the appearances given by the box score, I thought he looked very good. The Rockets looked to him every trip down the floor, bringing him across the baseline from side to side. Once more, as I noted earlier, we didn’t see him used at all as a motion cutter as he was in his debut. It’s become painfully clear that the staff hopes to, at the least, see what ‘The McGrady Offense’ can bring. Tracy looked a step quicker on his drives, even making his way all the way through at the 1:35 mark before missing at the rim. At the 2:06 mark of the first, he actually got caught in the air with no space, and effortlessly found an open David Andersen. His body control/passing are almost unparalleled in this league. However, for McGrady, the highlight of this night came on a play that probably went without notice. With 2:55 remaining, he made a sudden burst backdoor, completely losing his defender. Unfortunately, he wasn’t spotted by David Andersen and didn’t receive the pass. Up until that point, I hadn’t yet seen Tracy make a move that explosive in his five games since the return.
    # Unfortunately, the lowlight for Tracy probably needs its own bullet. With 20 seconds remaining in his stint, McGrady didn’t even attempt to contest a Ryan Anderson ‘3’, and the lead swelled to ten. It’s difficult with McGrady. He can look so good at one end, exhibiting all-world talents, and then appear to not even have the slightest interest on the very next play. Like I have been saying, the metric that considers the net effect of his impact on “The Chaos Effect” against his passing contributions will determine his future in Houston.

You don't get it. The man is in a contract year. He has a right to earn a new contract and the Houston Rockets are toying with his livelihood. What if he ends up on food stamps like Latrell Sprewell, then what? The guy has a family and kids to feed and it's just not right. Unless Tracy plays at least *28 minutes in Jersey, Adelman and Morey should be sued and taken to court for any loss of potential future earnings by Tracy Lamar McGrady.

    * 28 is symbolic of the number of days in the menstrual cycle

    Tracy McGrady,
With quotes like this Rick has to be apprehensive about giving TMac more for fear that he will put his own stats ahead of what is best for the team. Certainly the Rockets have to give him playing time in order to determine his value for trade scenarios but they don't owe him anything. Rick most keep what he thinks is best for the team in mind.

Not suprised, Adelman doesn't even talk to him to let him no when he expects to increase his minutes

tmac couldn't contain himself. he had to let his scrooge out and just in the nick of time for x-mas eve. i believe it was the game before...he was fine with the limits and was just doing whatever coach wanted from him. now, it's a problem again.

i want tmac on the team cause i don't think the rockets can do it next season without yao and tracy both healthy if we want to be a serious contender. oh...who am i kidding? this team is not a serious contender anyway. yea...they are fun to watch and play team ball and all that. that doesn't make them contenders. it makes them good enough to probably get to the post-season and maybe even win another playoff series. but, beyond that, i just don't see it.

i like the rockets and all. been a fan for many years. but, my hope/wishful thinking factor is at an all-time low at the moment as far as this team being a serious contender. best i'm hoping for this current season is adelman as coach of the year and landry as sixth man of the year. and, who really cares about that? i was hoping we would have a full team next season with tmac and yao and this current cast playing at a high level and being thought of as having a chance to contend. but, i guess that is not possible now. i don't think the rockets have any intention of keeping t-mac for next season. and, i can't tell anyone that would be a mistake. it could be...but who knows for sure?

the goal of all this crap is to win a championship. i'm just not seeing it with yao and without mcgrady. morey better work some huge magic in the off-season to find another player...cause the jolly green giant and the x-mas elves are not going to bring us a championship.

He didn't say anything wrong. Maybe he shouldn't say anything but it wasn't anything groundbreaking. Houston is still first choice if they want him.

Am I the only one who sees the disparity between this article and Tmac's interview in another thread?

Clutch's video showed him agreeing with RA's minutes, that he's willing to do anything to win, and saying that he doesn't want to disrupt chemistry. Why the heck would he do an about face in the SAME interview and refer to his PT as a mere "cameo"? It doesn't make sense at all

If the article's writer just made it up Tmac should sue. This is bull****.

I'm personally waiting on a tweet from Adam Schefter. Remember, he's the guy that broke the story on Stoops to Notre Dame.
