They don't buy him out because they don't want to see him go to another western conference rival at a low price.
From earlier in the year... http://www.deseretnews.com/article/...lenko-for-McGrady-trade.html?linkTrack=rss-32
The Kirilenk rumor is from realgm boards. Its another "a friend said" or "a source close to me". Take it with a grain of salt. http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=971730&start=15
I don't think this report changes anything as far as when Tmac might be traded. McGrady asking for a trade was almost silly since the team has no doubt been trying to trade him for over a year now anyway. If anything the public trade request and sitting him out makes it harder to trade him as other teams know he has zero on the court value to the Rockets. On the flip side, with his injury history no matter how much they show cased him on the court, it was unlikely to boost his trade value significantly any time in the near future. His value would still be almost completely linked to his expiring contract.
Grain of salt for sure...but what if it was T-mac for AK47 PLUS NY Knicks unprotected 1st round pick that Utah owns the rights to? I think this scenario was suggested before. Maybe it was Bima?
I wouldn't mind getting that first rounder from New York, but the rumor is probably just that....a rumor.
I totally disagree the Rockets being classy, professional and handling Tmac the best way they could, but hey you are entitled to your opinion as I am. Everything else about Tmac has be rehashed a million times on here already, so nothing new that you said that hasn't been agreed with or refuted by someone else already.
Yao Ak47 Battier Ariza Brooks...WOW, that's some tough defenders out there....how are they going to score?? I think Ak47 is better than Artest defensively.
For what it's worth, the Rockets officially released this statement: Nothing at all new, but figured it was worth repeating given the anonymous source bashers we have in this forum.
