Thats by far his biggest mistake. It started the whole downhill spiral. McGrady's '08 had a freaking 22 game win streak and his first "understandable" playoff loss with a woefully outmanned squad. They returned the same team 22 win streak team.To that they added elusive "third scorer" and hardnosed defender Ron Artest. With even false hopes of having Steve Francis return into the star studded mix, it was the most highly anticipated Rockets team probably of the decade.

All for naught. McGrady for some reason was out of shape, his weird idiosyncrasies and quirks became apparent in bigger magnitudes than ever before. He basically unraveled before everyone's eyes, physically, mentally, emotionally. And did it all, selfishly. It was like McGrady's alternate reality compared to what really needed to be going on. Which was focused dedication to be a healthy basketball player. Then all the personality flaws came out culminating in electing to get his own microfracture surgery and that was that, fate sealed. America is about 2nd chances so they gave him his. But it wasnt enough.

All he had to do was report back in shape and try to mix in his playing style with others. Couldnt do it. Something 90% other players can.

I say nothing gets done till late Jan or trade deadline, just cause it's out in the open that we're gonna trade him doesn't mean theres a rush. We wait for something good or make no deal at all.

Wouldn't Kaman and Camby for McGrady be great.

Are you kidding me? The kids IQ is horrible. Lamar Odom came into the league at 19 years old and averaged 17ppg 8reb and 4ast. He is no where near the player that Odom was when he came into the league. Comparing Odom and Randolph is like compairing Jordan and Ariza.

PS. can I please have a hit off your crack pipe?

not making excuses for the guy, having said that, maybe with his lazy "this comes easy to me demeanor" he figured he wouldnt have to work as hard with a loaded and rocket team last season?

( i hope some of yall got the curb reference)

You know what else Odom had his rookie year? 36 MINUTES A GAME! The only thing holding Randolph back from averaging those numbers is the limited minutes Don Nelson has given him! The kids IQ is a lot higher than many 20 year olds that are playing ball.

    This.

The guy is so full of talent and though I know that he slacks, he is so gifted that I truly feel bad letting him go.

Don't let the door hit you in the @ss on the way out! This a Rockets Team site, not a player site. T-mac was never truly a Rocket in my mind. The team has always been defined by players of great heart and he just has none.

Odom has a role on a championship team. Randolph plays for a sorry high tempo team who dont have a leader or an all star.

    1st option Kobe
    2nd option Pau
    3rd option Bynum
    4th option Artest
    5th option Odom

    1st option Ellis
    2nd option ?
    3rd option ?
    4th option ?
    5th option ?

    just saying lol

I hope DM agreed to "work on a trade" then went back to his office and unplugged his phone.

Just because Tmac wants a trade doesn't mean we have to do something stupid or rushed to accommodate him.

He can sit at home and count his $230,000 per game while we turn down stupid trade offer after stupid trade offer.

I'd rather let him sit and expire than take back bad players and/or bad contracts.
