Yea only Randolph can handle the ball like a guard, is a legit 6-10, extremely long wing span, more athletic, more range on his shot and is a lot younger with extremely high upside. Think Lamar Odom dude....not Stro.
Rockets recieve - Larry Hughes, Al Harrington, Knicks 2011 and 2012 First round picks Knicks recieve - Tracy McGrady
Rockets look to deal McGrady, ending wait for what could have been Rockets look to deal McGrady, ending wait for what could have been http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2009/12/rockets_look_to_deal_mcgrady_e.html In many ways, it was always going to end like this. It wasn't angry. There was no blowup of controversial comments or ugly divorce settlement negotiations. Tracy McGrady believed he was ready to play far more than he had in six cameos. Rick Adelman was not able to say when or if that would happen. So McGrady's agents asked the Rockets to look for a trade, with McGrady permitted to leave the team while the Rockets tried to find a deal. It was heading to this sort of end eventually, thought it seemed more likely to reach this point when McGrady became a free agent after this season. But it had become clear for some time that McGrady's Rockets run would end without the success that once seemed so certain. Even without Monday's agreement, the Rockets would have moved on and he would, too, and their time together would have ended with far less grandeur than they had both thought when he came to town. He and Yao Ming were to lead the Rockets back to greatness. And there have been some fun moments along the way. In the end, however, McGrady's time with the Rockets will be largely be remembered for unfulfilled promise, with his finest moments (and some were spectacular) only serving to remind of what could have been. "He was a great player," Adelman said on Saturday. And for all the ferocity of his detractors, he was in many ways great. He just always seemed capable of being greater, of having more in that remarkable package of talent and athletic gifts than he entirely realized. That was often characterized as a personality flaw, but a great many athletes never achieve all that was possible for them, no matter what those possibilities were. McGrady, for all his unusual gifts, was far from unique in that. Yet, assuming he never plays for the Rockets again, his time in Houston will be remembered with the same mixed feelings he has inspired, from the highs of the 13 points in 35 seconds, to the lows of the Game 7 losses, from the 22-game winning streak to the injuries that limited him and eventually ended his run. For all the debate that was inspired by the reduction of McGrady's minutes from first-half cameos to no playing time at all, none of that matters now. From the time he opted for microfracture surgery, he was never going to get all the way back in the time left on his contract, even if he eventually does get there somewhere else. He is proud to have worked his way to this point. Since he left the team last season to consider his options in the wake of the embarrassing loss in Milwaukee, McGrady's tenure in Houston was going to end either with the Rockets looking for a trade before this season's deadline or by letting him walk as a free agent. Either would have been unthinkable when they gleefully traded Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley and Kelvin Cato to get him, and when they gave him an extension as large as the rules would allow to this season make him the highest-paid player in the NBA. He has earned some lines in the Rockets record book, but could not reach all that seemed possible that day he predicted "great things happening in the City of Houston," a promise that seemed so real that it played every night before tipoff at Toyota Center. Maybe that is why so many wanted another chance and clung to the hope that he could make it all the way back. We all knew what he meant that day when he could not stop smiling. It wasn't this. He came here, he said then, to win championships. But this seems fitting, a reminder of what could have been, but never will be. Posted by Jonathan Feigen at December 28, 2009 09:12 PM
Not possible, can't trade back to back 1st rd picks but i'd do Hughes, Harrrington and 2012 1st rounder for Tracy.
He also said that teams only want Mc for his contract, which we knew. he only mentioned GS and NY but that the Rox did not want the contracts of Maggette or Jeffries
I wonder if McGrady's biggest mistake was not coming into 08-09 training camp in shape. I mean, he had all summer to work on his knee and rehab his shoulder after his surgery. I could be wrong, but I feel like he should have arrived in training camp last season in better shape, especially after the Rockets signed Ron Ron to go for the ring. Why did TMac come into training camp fat and out of shape last year?
Seriously is it that hard to read the titles of the GARM?? I know all the new young bloods want to start a HOT thread and all but you look like an idiot if you don't check to see if there is something related on another thread.
