Well he played through it last year with that shoulder, so I dont know how much less comfortable he'll be. It could be something big, or it could just be a hiccup to his game. We'll find out.
Okay. Last post before I put you on ignore. I also want to state that I am not a *** and get annoyed with his lack of heart and toughness. He is far from perfect. That said, let's look at his playoff teams and their opponents, because you are wrong (again) Series 1: This was vince Carter's team and TMac was 20 and a second option. Not yet a "superstar". They lost to a heavily favored NYK team consisiting of Allan Houston, Latrell Sprewell, Ewing, Larry Johnson and Camby Series 2: Orlando -TMAC Averages: 33.8 ppg, 8.3 apg, 6.5 rpg -The 43-39 Magic team had TMac, Darrell Armstrong, Mike Miller and Pat Garrity as it's best players. The lost to the 52-30 Bucks team that featured Ray Allen, Glenn Robinson, San Cassell and Tim Thomas. -You tell me...talent gap between those two teams??? Series 3: Orlando -TMac Averages: 30.8 ppg, 5.5 apg, 6.3 rpg -The Magic team has TMac, Miller and Armstrong once again as it's top players. Oh, and Garrity. They lost to a Charlotte Hornets team with Jamal Mashburn, Baron Davis, David Wesley and Elden Campbell, all playing some of their best individual basketball of their careers. -Talent gap? Series 4: Orlando -TMac Averages 31.1 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 4.7 apg -The 42-40 Magic ream had TMac, Pat Garrity, Mike Miller, Drew Gooden and Gricek. They lost to 52-30 Pistons team (the 1 seed) featuring Hamilton, Billups, Prince, Okur, Ben Wallace, and a surprisingly still decent Cliff Robinson You know the Rockets ones. We lost to better teams each time, though we did blow homecourt vs. the Jazz My point is that I don't think that you can blame McGrady for the playoff failures. If anything, he elevates his game but has not had the talent around him OR a team favored to win (at least not in Orlando) I just get tired of people acting like he had talent around him. He does now. We'll see what happens
excellent post and every true rockets fan knows you're right. no point in arguing with an obvious hater here, though. you're just wasting your time with him.
My bad ur right that first one was a typo shoulda said 2005. And yea it would be nice if he shot a higher percentage but to say he is a non-factor is utterly ridiculous.
McGrady needs to tough it up. Here's the trend. There is always something bothering him. I hope Artest can be the new captain. He doesnt cry, he battles. McGrady needs to think championship and the sacrifice that takes. He needs to give KG a call.
hey hes got a point bbut we can just hope. That t-mac is himself goes out there. And gives 110 percent
i don't know how some people cannot be thankful for one of ONLY A HANDFUL of guys in this league that is capable of what tmac does. at his best, he's arguably on the same level with kobe and lebron. at his worst, he still can carry teams for stretches. now he has a lot of help with artest and a healthy yao.
Tracy is always gonna whine. He's probably telling the truth but a real man wouldn't go out in the media and say he's injured. It reeks of an excuse that he can use if something crazy happens and we don't live up to expectations. He can then say, "Well remember I told you I had a bum knee and shoulder, so I don't know why you expected much out of me." Sissy. On another note, good news about Yao and the Rockets' planned treatment of him this year to keep him healthy. Glad to hear they're finally gonna watch him closely to avoid the same fate he had the last three seasons. Read more about that topic and watch Yao chug a beer at: www. rocketsonly.com
He didn't bring it up the entire time. Then he was asked, point blank, how's his health. What's he supposed to do, say "great" and then when he's limping around act like nothing's up? I hate it when players get criticized for being honest. Criticize him for a having fragile body if you must, or criticize the reporter for daring to inquire about his health. But don't criticize him for answering the press questions honestly.
Guys don't feed the trolls , they are just hating. They would rather see T-Mac injured and Rockets slosing so they will have something to whine about.
I think its time people distinguish the difference between Kobe whining and Truth. McGrady speaks the truth about his condition, some consider this the truth, others say he is whining. I rather have him speak the truth, than wonder why he isn't playing at his best. Kobe Whining is blaming the refs, blaming an unlucky shooting night (which he famously said in our 22nd win in a row where Battier completely covered Kobe up). So the gap that puts McGrady behind the full definition "warrior" is speaking the truth.
tmac played hurt in the first round and he was fine and dominated. and i think there is a majority on here who believes if alston played all the games, we would have won. so his injuries are those that he can play through. as long as he is not SITTIN', we're fine. despite what people say, he is very tough. he's played through more injuries than anybody on this team (knee, shoulder, back) and even rushed back many times.
What are the odds/chances this is McGrady's last season? Not just in Houston but in the league?? Arthritic shoulder? Arthritis tends to spread rather quickly and is NOT corrected by any form of off season surgery. Hate to be a downer, but this is a possibility in my estimation.
Not saying the shoulder is not a issue, but what really slowed him down last year was the Knee. he found a way to manage the shoulder, but the knee injury is what botherd him the most. also the shoulder injury is on the non-shooting side. so thats a positive. if you can call it that. overall, if his knee is better, then i expect tracy to be better then last season.
I don't see how the knee is going to get better on its own while he's playing. Maybe he should sit out the preseason as well.
That an option. but he does need to start getting in better shape. so limited minutes in the pre-season should be the way to go. another thing i wouldnt mind seeing is him coming off the bench. i think having him come off the bench might help lighten the burden and the minutes. Starters Alston Artest Battier Scola Yao Bench Tmac Barry Brooks Francis Landry That would allow yao to be the number 1 option of the starters and it will allow tracy to see less minutes off the bench. starting or not, i wanna see tracy's minutes reduced to 30 minutes for the regular season to keep him fresh for the playoffs.
I agree with this but I dont think this is going to happen. Tracy is going to want his starter minutes (33-36) and play from those minutes.
