No problem . my bad. i agree he should have that surgey now. with alston
    Artest
    Battier
    Scola
    Yao

That is a starting lineup that can somewhat compensate for mcgrady's to to 3 month absence.

Its never good to hear that your most dynamic player is hurt or not 100%, but Tmac at 80% is still better than most players in this league and its definetily better than not having him at all.

I'm sure he'll start getting the Tim Duncan treatment along with Yao. Phil Jackson already said he's going to play Kobe less minutes and I'm sure Rick Adelman will try to do the same with his 3 stars, since they all have had injury history.

We can probably expect the same type of play from Tmac that we got last season. He won't attack of the dribble as much, but rather more off the ball for alley oops and back cuts and he will naturally settle for more jumpshots. Since he won't have to create as much I'm sure he'll get more mid range shots instead of taking a lot of 3's. His shooting touch won't get better if he's injured, so hopefully he'll realize that and be a playmaker and a finisher instead of being a high volume scorer.

He has 2 great options in Yao and Artest who are a nightmare for most players to match up with 1 on 1. Scola and Battier can post up occasionally and he has 2 ferocious finishers in Landry and Dorsey. He won't have to bring the ball up the court because Rafer is still here and he is very good at handling the ball and limiting turnovers. Plus 3 point shooters in Barry, Head, Brooks, and Battier. He has rebounders all over the place with Yao, Scola, Landry, Hayes, Dorsey, and Artest. He'll almost never have to guard a great offensive player because he has 2 of the top 5 perimeter defenders in the league in Battier and Artest (Artest is probably the most feared defender in the NBA).

To put it simple, Tmac's injuries won't be noticed as much outside of his scoring average, because he will have less responsibility. This is by far the most complete team and the deepest team Tmac has ever played on.

This year will be a great opportunity for Tmac to showcase his passing ability. Who knows, if things are really clicking, he could average 7-10 assists per game.

But if he feels good from the field on a given night, he's always a threat to score 30-50 points in a night if needed...he is still one of the most diverse offensive players out there. I think Tmac and the Rockets will be alright this season as long as nobody misses more than 10-15 games.

I said get his teammates involved while BEING efficient meaning both at the SAME TIME. Don't get me wrong I will always root for mac but I'm just a realist.

I'm not sure what to make of the comment about arthritis. What does this mean? People are mentioning surgery, is that an option to fix this? Didn't he have surgery on his shoulder right after the playoffs? Is this the same shoulder?

    Goddamnit...

Don't keep your hopes up on this season folks! Its going to be a disappointing finish as usual as evident by all the injury news coming up. Bottom line is the rockets can't win a championship without Yao and Mcgrady healthy!

Agree. Its also time to trade Rafer for a PG with more shooting and strength but with the same passing as Rafer. Like for a Billups, Calderon....

If you thought last year's T-Mac was ineffecient, get ready to see the least efficient T-Mac ever next year. i'll banking on 50% free throw shooting.

I wouldn't exactly say he is inefficient. When he isn't putting up 25+ points, we're always seeing him with at least 9 assist + and 8 rebounds +

Are you saying McGrady is a non-factor in the playoffs???

    WOW

    2008 Playoffs - 27 PPG, 8.2 RPG, 6.8 APG
    2007 Playoffs - 25.3, 5.9, 7.3
    2006 Playoffs - 30.7 , 7.4, 6.7

Yea I realize we are 0-3 in getting out of the first round but calling TMac a non-factor is just down right ignorant.

wtf how can u be a contributing member wen u write crap like this. Its ridiculus to think he misses games on purpose. him cruising during a game is fair enough but he doesnt miss them on purpose. its not like his with a crap team

Well at least the good news is the injury to his shoulder is on his non-shooting arm. I though it was on the right at first.

    2006 Playoffs T-Mac was fishing
    2007 Playoffs 25.3PTS with FG:39.4% 3P:25.0% FT:73.7%
    2008 Playoffs 30.7PTS with FG:42.5% 3P:20.8% FT:62.3%

T-Mac is the leader of the team. He does need to score efficiently

LeBron played bad too in the playoffs. But check the statistics of the regular season please.
    fg% 2006 2007 2008
    LeBron 48.0 47.6 48.4
    T-Mac 40.6 43.1 41.9

Do you think LeBron have the same efficiency with T-Mac?
