Well see what you're not considering is the rate of recovery. You see for the first 38 days he recovers at a rate of 1.1% per day. After the first 38 days though it becomes a crawl. At the moment he is only recovering .2% a day, and that will only slow down. Trying to be sarcastic here
hmmmm....i guess if he'sstill hurt, there's nothing he can really do about it. I just don't know what to say honestly......I wrote 5 different things and then "backspaced" all 5 of them. I just wanted the season to start on a clean slate and this isn't helping. Hey....I guess it is what it is. T-Mac is hurt again and NOW he has an excuse for the REST of the season.....his fu%king shoulder and his Got D@mn knee. *sigh* I know injuries are apart of the game and I willing to be positive....i just needed to vent a lil.....
McGrady = knee, shoulder, back Yao = foot, shoulder Alston = ankle Battier = ankle Landry = knees Francis = knee Hayes = broken nose Barry = 37 yrs old and not far removed from calf injury That's over 50% of our roster and 6 of those 8 players are expected to be in the rotation. 4 of those 8 players were starters last season.
No, I mean another season of AntiSonic posts ripping TMac non-stop In fact...I really should add you to my ignore list so I don't have to read the crap you continue to spew
So T-Mac is saying he will need more surgery on his shoulder, but he didn't say when. Does he intend to have the surgery before this season starts, or is he going to play through the injury this season and have the surgery next summer?
The second we got Artest, I was certain we'd see at least a 30 game absence by McGrady this year. Phantom or real, he finds a way to sit if he thinks the team can play without him. Odd how he always healed up the second Yao went down the past couple of seasons...
i'm not concerned about yao, rafer, or battier. we have insurance on barry (head), and on landry (hayes, dorsey). steve and hayes won't affect our team on a game to game level becuase they aren'y going to play much. the only thing that worries me is tmac slue of nagging injuries.
I'll tell you this much, I know from personal experience that shoulder problems and knee problems are the worst kind to have. You can get treatment, but the best you can ever hope for again is about 85-90%. In the 10 years since dislocating my shoulder, I've had several subsequent separations... and the pain comes with every season change. Exercises specifically aimed at strengthening the muscles surrounding the joint helps, but does not work miracles of a return to 100%. Now, honestly, I was no NBA athlete when I injured my shoulder, so I was not already at or near top physical shape, but 6 months to rehab and recover from my injuries was not even realistic. I'd say it was more like a year... but, I did not have the surgery that was recommended at the time... I just did rehab exercises after a period of limited motion and rest. As for a knee injury, you've got to remember that while you can somewhat rest your shoulder, a knee is supporting at least half of your body's weight every time you stand up. The knee gets stress during the actions of standing up, sitting down, walking, standing... much less running, jumping and dunking. I would hope that no one in the Houston Rockets organization expects T-Mac to be the superhuman that many here seem to be disappointed he is not. You've all got to be realistic... he's just a highly paid human, in a body of flesh, muscle, sinew and bone... and he has to be given proper time to heal. If he does not heal properly (as seems some of the case with his shoulder) it can literally end his career sooner rather than later. Patience in this matter is a virtue... and I'll just advise everyone here... to expect that he'll miss some of this season. Be prepared to accept the worst... and then just be pleasantly surprised if he the best happens.
Wow. Its media day and the T-Mac bashers are out in full force already. Keep up those expectations...
Everyone please stop acting like you're surprised this dude is hire. I'm changing his nickname from Tmac to Tbriddle. Thank u Ron, please feel free to accomplish with Yao that Tmac is unable to. Note to Tmac: U stop playing in May, surgery would have been nice in May, which would have ensure you're 100% in Nov 09. Get it together!!!
Accomplish with Yao? WITH Yao?? You mean like the last half of the 22 games in a row WITHOUT Yao or taking the Jazz deep WITHOUT Yao (and rafer) oh...you MUST be talking about in 06 when they got to the playoffs together...no wait Tmac got us there by himself too (yao missed the second half of the season and did good during the playoffs but at this point TMac had nothing left) With the exception of MJ name me one player in the last 15 years who has single handedly taken their team deep into the playoffs except MAYBE Shaq and Kobe that one year against the No D Suns. Ok Fine I am willing to concede that Tmac is not a helpful to our team as Shaq, Kobe, or MJ in their prime...
Would you rather have him say this, or have him say that he is 100% "in the best shape of his life"? I'd rather have him say this, the other would just be a setup for major disappointment. It would be the equivalent of Melo saying the Nuggets can win 60 games.
so is he going to have surgery at the end of the season? man, both yao and tmac need shoulder surgery.
I blew out my meniscus Stepped on a biscuit Hurt my shoulder had to cruise on back home But there's booze in the blender And soon it will render That frozen concoction that helps me hang on Wastin away in McGradyville....
He's always injured before training camp, it has become a ritual. Don't worry, TMac will be 100% when season starts.
