Pretty much and if David Lee sets screens for Tslack Chuck can switch. Hayes is quicker than McGrady is these days. I just don't see this ending well from McGrady unless he shows up shooting like Reggie Miller that day.
that's a dumb statement. yea, I'm sure everyone who was a rockets fan was rooting for tmac to do good since it was for the better of the team. After the stunts he pulled last year and giving up on the teams in that toronto game, he lost my respect. He was hella unprofessional and being a damn diva, deciding when he wants to play right before tip off. Rockets had too much respect for him and allow him to run the team. If you notice with our rockets player, after the trade, all they mention was missing landry and nothing about tmac. He was a cancer on the team.
I know it's cheating, but a Rockets player should throw a feather at T-Mac's knee. He will have to be carried on a stretcher to his high chair.
Ailing McGrady set to face former team Rockets general manager Daryl Morey, applauded for getting substantial value for rehabbing Tracy McGrady in the blockbuster trade with the Knicks on Feb. 18, appears to be right in his assertion. Morey told The Post yesterday he never believed the Rockets could make the playoffs while nursing McGrady back to full strength. The Rockets visit the Knicks tomorrow at the Garden in McGrady's first chance at sticking it to Houston, which he believes did him wrong. McGrady struggled last night vs. the Sixers, going scoreless, shooting 0-for-7, and sitting out the fourth. McGrady was impaired slightly after landing funny in the third quarter, but he's playing tomorrow. Morey won't be there. He's flying to Europe where he will scout international prospects in Greece, Italy and Spain. Possibly one of those young foreign players will be selected with potentially two bonus lottery picks from the Knicks. The Rockets can swap picks with the Knicks in 2011 if the Knicks wind up in the lottery again, but it is protected through 5. In 2012, Morey gets the Knicks' first-round pick outright. If the Knicks don't score big in free agency, they could be doomed to the lottery another two seasons. McGrady has been high maintenance as a Knick, with a series of knee-related setbacks preventing him from making a full-blown impact. McGrady's knee has been in pain off and on and his minutes are now limited to the 25-range to allow him to play every game. In many games, McGrady has played too passively to be their leading man and last night was no exception. When McGrady made his return in December for Houston, coach Rick Adelman held his minutes to 7.8 per game in his seven outings. McGrady was dissatisfied and the parties parted ways while Morey worked on a trade. "I still feel he'll make it back, but we definitely didn't know how long it would take," Morey said. "He'll make it back because he's still a young guy, but we knew he was coming back from a difficult injury. He wanted more minutes than we were comfortable with early on. "And maybe the disagreement on how to bring him back leaked over into him thinking this was a personal conflict," Morey added. "I never felt that way. He had a reasonable point but we chose a different way. We wanted to keep going with a low-minute situation until we were quite confident expanded minutes would help us win. We were still trying to win and make the playoffs." The Rockets, who have won four in a row, still are in the hunt. The Knicks are out of contention and can absorb the erratic nature of McGrady's audition. Meanwhile, ex-Knick Jared Jeffries has filled in when the Rockets had injuries, but at full strength he's not part of the core rotation. In nine games, Jeffries, who had been the Knicks' best defender, is averaging 5.2 points and 3.8 rebounds. The Knicks 2009 lottery pick, rookie Jordan Hill, has been a pleasant addition in spot duty. In nine games, Hill is averaging 5.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and shooting 50 percent and his Garden return will also be full of intrigue. "We've been really happy. He's got a lot of potential offensively and defensively," Morey said of Hill. "Offensively he's got that jump hook, good offensive rebounder. His defense is more potential, but it's so hard to defend as a rookie. But he's got good instincts. He's got a shot at being a rotation guy for us." The Knicks gave up and Jeffries and Hill to open up enough nearly cap space to sign two maximum free agents. If they don't succeed in getting even one, the trade will be an abject failure. Morey's main asset in the deal was obtaining sharpshooter Kevin Martin in the three-team deal with Sacramento. Martin has averaged 22 points. The lone tradeoff, said Morey, was they gave up their chance at opening up cap space in 2010. But Morey said they would've had to renounce a couple of players they preferred to keep. For his part, McGrady said after the trade he had circled the game on his calendar. He told The Post he hasn't watched a Rockets game all season. It has been just too painful to watch his former team, especially when in exile. marc.berman@nypost.com Read more: http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/knic...e_former_PpKBF3kArKtnrOkEtNz0HL#ixzz0ikJYaZtr
Ariza is starting, he's gonna shut Tracy down. Jordan Hill is gonna go Off tomorrow, Breakout game. Book it
I wonder how the crowd will react to T-Mac, will they give him a standing ovation or will they boo him....
Ariza will be guarding Harrington. Kevin Martin will float around and likely shade towards David Lee. Tracy doesn't need a defender to get shut down. He's capable of doing it himself.
I'd put money on Hill tearing up his former, not Tracy. I'm sure Tracy will press, especially early on. If I'm Adelman, my gameplan is to goad McGrady into taking too many shots and to attack him on the other end. Martin should be able to blow by him all day, and no way does McGrady fight through screens to chase him. Only other key is to keep Lee under wraps - he abused us in Houston.
Exactly. So far Tracy has been his best defender. On and off the court. How funny is that? But you can expect one thing. He will attempt around 20 shots
Please never say McGrady and Rocket's reunion in the same sentence. I know, I know, we are just playing against the guy's team, but the thought of him wearing a #3 jersey for us again makes me sick to my stomach. An appropriate title for this thread would be" "McGrady ready to be outwitted by Rockets again"
More interested in the development of Hill than the ghost of Tracy McGrady. I'll be watching to see what Hill does while the T-Groupies watch every movement their boy makes.
Marc Berman needs to read Clutch's article about the stipulations on the draft picks. http://www.clutchfans.net/news/1552/terms_of_rockets-knicks_draft_picks_swap/
