I really hoped we would fly out of the gates this year. The rest of the team has to figure out how to win w/o Tracy, quick! We have Yao and enough talent that we can do well though.

I wanted him before the season, and not because of his 'talent' or anything, but the way Wesley looks now and the 'nice guys' we got, we never needed him more, provided that JVG knows how to fire him up like the NY days.

Of the next 12 games remaining that we may not have TMac, I see us winning four (Memphis, Chicago, Minnesota, Boston)...we SUFFER against teams that have speed and quickness and thrive in transition, simply because our rebounding is deplorable and our transition defense is nonexistant...

    Get well soon TMac :(

I would find it hard to believe that Spree signs for just a 10 day contract and there is no way (even with Wesley struggling) that I want him here for the entire season. Besides we have no idea how good of a shape he is in and it might take him a few weeks to get adjusted to our offense (with no training camp or pre-season games). T-mac should be back by the time Spree is here and in game shape which makes adding him a moot point in my opinion.

THIS is exactly why it was a freaking idiotic move having him practicing. He should have been sitting out practices and only playing in games for a week or two just to give his knees a little extra rest. Stupid move to have him practice and now he's hurt badly and we're going to pay the price without him.

JVG is personally responsible for this.

Yup, that's what this team needs, but I hope Spree gets that fire back in his belly, because he sure lost it while he was exiled in Minnesota.

I think JVG would get it out of him, but even JVG 'mellowed' here in Houston a bit...must be that southern lifestyle.

In short, we need a tough motha...

I agree. What other coach would not see the big picture and jeopardize the health of the franchise player? I am for intense preparation, but this sh2t with JVG running a boot camp is getting old. Dude thinks he's coaching high school. How many times do we hear stars being held out for precuationary reasons? Every day. But no, not JVG. Dude has the temperament of a teenager. Let the players have some fun and teach Stro and Head instead of not playing them

I am starting to see things AI's way...

Practice? We're talking about practice! Not the game!

I wonder if that is the reason Yao seemed less tolerant of JVG during the game against NO. This bald guy indirectly hurt my best partner, and he's stubborn too.

Well of course we all know that Yao is a bit stubborn himself. Difficult to have him change his style on court even for the benefit of wins.

Doh, your right. I guess I thought we would split a double header against the Cubs ;)

And my prediction wouldn't be a 5-9 record either, but it is possible and man it would stink to be 5-9. I would probably go with 6-8 as my prediction.

are you serious? when do we hear news of star players being held out for precautionary measures, particularly when star player says he's ok. i don't remember rudy let dream skip out on practice. this injury has no relation to the tendinitis in his knees, it was just a freak thing. we might as well let yao rest at home so he doesn't get hurt in practice. **** happens but blaming this on jvg is IDIOTIC.

It wasn't just the tendinitis, it was also the bruised knee from the Mutombo collision. I still believe he should have been held out of practice.

that's fine and maybe he should have been, but i'd only be angry if the injury actually occurred to his knees. as it stands i don't think it's fair to blame anyone, jvg, the trainers, or even t-mac himself. it sounds like it was completely random.
