its so sad that what he is saying is true. i just dont understand why there is so much TMac support on our board. To me, it seems that Adelman is hesitant to bring him back because he is afraid it may ruin a good thing. I for one love watching us play, and hope that Tmac is either moved or finds a way to fit in without dominating the ball.
That's exactly how I read his quotes. Probably why he came out with that "target date". Seems like they would like to delay his return as much as possible. It's not hating or bashing him if its true and documented people!
I totally agree that McGrady has no business opening his mouth. He has not learned his lesson by just shutting up already. That said, it's funny how the media would whine that a player is "putting the spot light on himself" when the "spot light" is held by none but the people who write about him.
Its the past. You should really consider getting out and doing things if you're still upset about McGrady asking to be traded 7 years ago. To fans, the media....Tmac is just a basketball player. There's not any member of the media that questions his character that actually knows mcgrady the man. They know mcgrady the basketball player, and honestly, the stuff that happens between him and management is his business. Most athletes have rifts with management at some point in there career. Thats business sometimes. As a fan of the game, its okay to criticize mcgrady the athlete, but when you start getting into discussions about what kind of man he is, you're just going overboard. The reason why these writers love to rip at mcgrady is because mcgrady probably hated them. I dont blame him. If I was walking around and it was someones job to write a story about me in the paper id hate them too. Especially if they were negative 100 percent of the time.
Best line from the article: "Yet he had once again managed to put the spotlight onto himself, where he likes it to be. Until it gets too hot and he withers."
I get out plenty. It's not like I'm thinking about him asking for a trade or talking about it 24/7. How can you not look at someones past? That's what life is about, you get credit based on your past and you get jobs based on your resume. The past! When something is reoccuring you have no choice but to check the persons track record and try to compare and contrast what was done to in the past to what actions he is taking now. If you don't give people fuel to speak negative of you then they would have nothing but positive to say about you. If you keep making the same dumb mistakes then what else do you expect to others to focus on. Also, we only know Tracy the ball player, unless you have a personal realtionship with him I doubt you know him other than that as well. So there is no saying what type of person he is besides what we read and observe from our own two eye balls.
You think this guy is capable of reading Artest's mind and knowing what he meant when he said his year in Houston was challenging? Fran is a dumbass, and fabricates BS all the time. That said, there is some truth to this article, but my god he paints the picture way uglier than it actually is.
Morey looks like an evil genius in this picture...kinda like he is thinking "TMAC you have no idea whats in store for you my friend" (Evil laugh)
No, I know nothing about the guy. Ill tell you what I know, he's a pretty good ball player when healthy and he suits up for this city so when I'm watching him play, I'm a fan. I also know that he does great things to help the less fortunate and that's way more important than the fact that he said "its on me" one time before a playoff game. I think the scrutiny some athletes are under nowadays is sad when you think about all the other things that deserve attention in this world. Like whats going on in Darfur, for example. Mcgrady is using the ridiculous microscope he is under to spread awareness about whats going on ever there. Does that sound like something a selfish person would do?
Its actually fantastic what he's doing in Darfur I commend him for that. With 23 mill a year, you can help tons of folks in 3rd world countries. But it amazes me how he makes it about himself again. By making a movie about it. Who else is going to be the star of that movie? Not the Africans starving and clawing to get to the next days meal, if there even is one. But of course Tracy McGrady, the savior. He does what he can and that's great but you don't see Deke making a movie about building a hospital to help the community in his hometown. Do you? That has to tell you something.
He is NOT THE X-FACTOR!!! As soon as you understand that, the better off we will be. He is no longer held to a higher standard than Scola, Brooks, Ariza and Battier. We don't need him, and quite honestly, I am not sure If we want him either.
You have truly impressed me. I didn't see any possible negative angle to come from regarding mcgrady's efforts in darfur. Congrats.
Same OLD Fran with his music references. NO ONE cared then and no one cares now. The Chron did do something right by firing him
i bet you anything owner and management complained about his irresponsible columns all the time. His opinions were so negative and they almost carried a jealous feel to them. Its just bad writing. Period.
i'm not going to deny that there is not some truth to the article. the thing with fran is everything regarding tracy involves such a hateful tone. well we should all know that because he wanted the team to trade tracy after the mavs series in 04-05.
