Well Wafer has been playing better than T-mac so far this year. On offnese T-mac has improved though the last 2 games. Hopefully he keeps up. Wafer definitely needs more minutes though. He's been our best finisher around the basket this year.

And Wafer has been one of our worst defenders so far.

"I saw he was on the ground," Yao said. "I knew I stepped on him, but I didn’t know it was that hard.

"We are getting a little bit used to it. We’ve had almost 20 games with no me or no Ron (Artest) or no Tracy. We have to look at the positive."

    yao was not apologetic.

I'll still take the T-Mac I saw last game or Artest over your beloved Von Wafer any day week. What ever Von gives you on the offensive end of the court, it's all for not with his complete and total boneheaded play on the defensive end of the court. If Von would use the muscle between his ears better on the defensive end of the court, he could really put himself in a position to make some serious money this offseason.

His one on one defense may not be as bad, but there are times where he gets lost on defense, loses his man or doesn't rotate correctly. That may be a reason why Rick hasn't played him much since Ron and Mac came back.

    Typical Houston bandwagon fans.

When we're winning: Tmac is MVP! He's a great player, best passer in the league. 2 time scoring champion, just as talented as Kobe and Lebron...etc.

When we're struggling or injured: Tmac is trash, Von Wafer is better than him, trade him for Deng! He's selfish, he can't shoot, scared to drive, and doesn't get along with the team.

Yall are some truly amazing fans...I wonder how much yall blamed Dream back in the day when we couldn't get out of the first round for 4 years.

Its one thing if yall don't like his game. Yall have the right to that opinion. But just because the Rockets are struggling, doesn't mean you just throw Tmac under the bus.

People seem to forget who's carried the Rockets 3/4 years he's been here. His first year, he did everything, while Yao was developing.

In 06/07, he was ready to run everything through Yao, but when he got hurt, Tmac stepped up once again averaged 28 ppg and led us to a 20-12 record without Yao and a bunch of JVG, no offense, all defense players.

Last year, when Yao went out, he continued to carry us through the streak, and we were able to get Home court advantage once again. He also averaged 27, 7, and 6 for that series as well.

To me, Tmac along with Grant Hill have been the 2 unluckiest players to ever set foot in the NBA (In terms of injuries and poor supporting casts)

Um, you act like this all happened in one season. I agree the uniform change in 95 was disgraceful and hideous.

However, when Dream was traded, the glory days were long gone and his career was almost over. I wish he could have retired a Rocket, but its not like that trade ruined a championship team.

The Rockets had not made the playoffs in years when they let go of Rudy. Everyone thought it was time for a change. Times change, people grow older. That's life.

Another great post (as always). This year is just another good example of how the most underrated aspect of a team is HEALTH.

Needless to say though, Tmac's regression and now his injuries shows how unlucky and just really relatively unathetic our superstars are compared to the other superstars in the league. I knew before even Artest came here that he was NOT going to be sufficient enough to cover for Tmac's scoring and playmaking ability. He has nice footwork for someone with his size and strength, but we can't depend on him to beat someone off the dribble consistently . Our offense has always been predicated on Tmac's penetration and his good post entry passes to Yao to give easy scoring opportunities.

All of these injuries are just adding up at the wrong time. I have blamed Tmac and Adelman a lot lately but I think Yao definitely needs to re-establish his post dominance (on offense atleast). Yao is getting off too easy I'm afaid. Its been his team for the last couple of years so there's no reason for him to not be more selfish.
