I see what you mean. In fact when you watch games he really does look much better than he did last season. He is not that rusty, he is quicker and moves with more fluid. Yesterday he even showed few signs of explosivness. But I agree. If Tracy want to stay in the NBA and join a contender he will need to show his scoring abilty as well. I know he doesn't want to force anything, he playing within the team and he commits to defense but at some point he will HAVE TO show his offensive game is still there (if it really is). Right now his 4, 6 3, 2 points a game are pretty pathetic. Actually very pathetic. He needs to go to around 10 ppg because at the end of the day stats DO MATTER.
i might actually believe him after these past 4-5 games. remember, the 07-08 tmac wasn't very athletic either and was primarily a jumpshooter. but hopefully this is a smarter tmac and taking better shots.
I am not saying I don't belive him. He said he needs to stay agressive and I agree. I think he has been TOO passive, especially scoring.
he's playing with BG, charlie, bynum, rip, and stuckey. you SERIOUSLY think he's going to try to shoot with those guys? he's trying to show he's a playmaker first and that he's trying to integrate into the team concept. although he's doing much better recently, you can see that he only takes "good shots" now. the rest of the pistons take some of the dumbest shots there is. he's not at the superstar status anymore for him to jack up shots whenever he feels like it. he's trying to show his coach that he can help the team in other ways, and that's why he's getting minutes.
...grow up it's too far away too see what happened, but it looks like his shoe is halfway off, he must have come down on hit pretty hard. d
Yeah, I know I even wrote a post about that in the other thread. I agree, with Charlie, Gordon, Bynum there are no shots for Tracy. But still, sometimes I feel like he is too passive. And I am not really talking about taking shots. I saw one thing. If on his first shot he makes it or gets foul he immediatly wants the ball and is agressive. Once he misses or has a bad play (for example turnover) he has a tendency to stand in the corner for the next few plays. He is getting better, better and better and you can see his progress every game which you could not see last year. We will see what happens. But he is still saying old self. Mac, old self is GONE!
T-Mac received a lot of undeserved criticism last season for wanting to play. It was the Rockets who froze him out and made him ask to be traded. When that happened and the offers didn't come, the Rockets tried playing him one last time but McGrady had enough of it. He didn't want to be showcased. Either he was part of the team or he wasn't, and he saw that he wasn't. Then the Jordan Hill trade happened. I guess the Rockets wanted to rebuild and develop the rookies, but they could have handled the situation much more professionally. The rest of the league saw right through the eight minutes per game rule.
Detroit saw right through the rule and started T-Mac at right where the Rockets left off with 8 minutes, 8 months later.
I don't blame Tracy for not playing like a max player anymore. Whatever he gives to Detroit will be more than the value of his contract. The Rockets wanted to see another offer like Billups and Prince for McGrady, but it wasn't gonna happen.
