TMAC does not like to share the spotlight, that's why he got out of Toronto because all the attention is on Vince Carter. So i am sure he would not want to share spotlight with Duncan or Oneal or Bryant. What better place to come to play than Houston, and Yao doesn't care about spotlight, TMAC can have all the attention he wants and he knows that he's still be the man if he come to Houston.

Where did this, "not wanting to share the spotlight" come from. Tmac wanted the max which is something Toronto did not want to do with VC and Davis's contract. He also wanted to play at HOME in a warm weather climate unlike the frozen tundra Toronto is during the winter months.

Tmac knew coming in that he would either play with Hill who was better than VC ever was or Duncan who was the second best big man in the league if not both. Tmac thought he was starting a Dynasty with these guys.

I agree. After all these losing years in Orlando, I would think now T-mac wants to win more than the spotlight.

Can someone explain this to me:

However, the best player available (that isn't under rape investigation) may be Tracy McGrady, and McGrady is keeping his eye on the Houston Rockets.

Who are the players under investigation?

If T-mac came to Houston it would help Yao Ming develop into a elite player/star. Yao dont care about the spotlight he just want to play ball and win, T-Mac trives for attention plus he wants to win. If T-mac was on this team the pressure wouldnt be on Yao that much all eyes all attention would be on TMAC and he knows it. Yao and Steve have become close over the past 2 years but I think thats as far as we can go w/ those 2 at those positions. We need some atletic 6'7/6'8 player who has Kobe skills on this team with Yao. Cat(6'4)Steve(6'3) is a small backcourt if your gonna have a 6'5/6'6 small forward on this team (Jim Jackson) I'm all for keeping either Steve or Cat but most likely one will be gone if Mac came into town, I know Steve has to be involed in this deal for it to go down but if someway he doesnt that would be awesome to have Franchis/Mac/Yao but in all honesty i hope the rockets dont screw this up like they have been known to do, they have to contact T-Mac/Agent and make sure that he will sign long term deal befor pulling off the trade, and Houston has the greenlight in this whole ordeal T-MAC is there for the taking so I wouldnt give up TO TO TO much for him a Steve Francis/Kelvin Cato/Padgett would be enough for T-Mac/filler(Drew Gooden). Please Houston dont give up Jim Jackson or Cat or Mo Taylor those 3 could be vital complements to T-Mac and Yao Ming.

look at orlando's lineup its still competitive
    Tyrone Lue
    Steve Francis
    Garrity/Padgett
    Emeka Ocafur
    Kelvin Cato

Houston would have a AWESOME lineup
    Cuttino Mobley(or free agent)
    Jim Jackson/T-Mac/Pike/Cat
    T-Mac/Jim Jackson/Nachbar
    Drew Gooden/Mo Taylor
    Yao Ming/Free Agent/Weatherspoon

Thats more realistic trade we shouldnt have to give up Cat/Cato/Steve for T-Mac the guy wants to be here!!!!!!

Your kidding me right? Its Kobe who is a free agent, or is going to opt out of his contract to become a free agent.

rockbox, I've pondered that line-up too. I like the temporary solution of Cat at the point. He's done it before. Cat at point wouldn't be necessarily permanent, but rather an experiment. Hey, if Billups can play point so can Cat. Same with the old Ron Harper. As long as they aren't sloppy. But in the end, I'd still want Barry at the point if we can get him.

With a core of Barry, Cat, JJ, and T-mac, we go from of the shortest perimeters in the league to one of the tallest. The possibilities are limitless and it would give us some crazy flexibility to exploit matchups. We have 4 guys that could play all 3 positions at any given moment.

A big question mark is Juwan Howard (PF). His contract is big! Something like $115 Million over 7 years. Has that thing expired yet?

Also, I'm excited that C-Web would want to play with T-Mac and Yao. You know?....To get back at the Lakers for all the pain they have caused him? Just like Sheed, C-Web really doesn't want to "lead" a team. T-Mac will have that role in Houston, but with some pretty good help: Yao and if possible C-Web. If not C-Web, then Sheed. If not Sheed, then Brand. I know there has to be a PF that would love to play with a T-Mac/Yao team (as the third man). Especially if that PF has a bone to pick with the Lakers. Which most do. :)

P.S. These PF's may have to take a pay cut in order to play with us. The good thing is that if they do, they are here for winning reasons, not for *just* money.

Howard is making the MLE. His contract is large only because it is for 6 years.

I hope we could somehow keep Cat and sign R.Wallace after we make the Big Trade. Wallace and Cat grew up together in the same hood and having Cat here along with T-MAC and Yao it wouldnt take much to get him in Houston. thats the key thing in getting T-MAC and Yao 2gether becuz it attracts free agents to wanna play here plus the city of H-TOWN makes it better we are on the RISE!!!!a new LA or NY (serious take a walk downtown) with T-Mac and Wallace we would have a swagger to this town, we wouldnt be known as imature pushovers who cant win the big games. CD just get the D**M trade done and the rest will fall in place but we need to keep CAT MOBE.

    i dunno....

my only problem is tmac reoccuring back problems. this is not some little thing. then again, if tmacs back is a bothering him in the regular season in the east, its gonna kill him in the much more physical west with a playoff push.

i am just concerned when we discuss giving up the only player that came through in the playoffs for a guy thats never really been tested or came through in the regular season.
    the east is pretty weak...

but damn, tmac has looked pretty damn great...
    but that damn back...

    more will be revealed, no?

Yeah, I'm glad the downtown area has been revived. I hated the "grime" image that Houston had in the 70/80's and early 90's. Not anymore. The Super Bowl helped showcase the new city.

As far as Cat. One of the reason that I want to keep Cat is because Kobe can't guard him! Cat is like the anti-Kobe. :D While it's true that Cat can't stop Kobe either. That's not the point. The point is that Cat attacks Kobe with no fear and Kobe can't do anything about it. Cat just adds that extra weapon: Like Andrew Toney of the 83's Sixers (Cat's favorite player, by the way). Or Vinny "the Microwave" Johnson of the 89-91 Pistons.

Cat is our X-factor. I hope we keep him.

    I worry about that too...
I wonder if that's caused by T-Mac carrying the load each and every night (in Orlando) without any help.

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble. I like to have Tmac on this team as much as anyone else but:

-Macbeth brought up a good point. Players always have mood swings. One day it's "I like the Rockets", the next it's "I like the Lakers", etc. And since Steve's BYC won't be up until the end of June or something like that, that will give other teams time to package their own players to make a run at TMac.

-We always see this happen. This year it's TMac. Last year it was all this talk about trying to woo Brand. The year before that it was Webber....every year we're always linked to some big name player that we never get. And it's sad that players use us as leverage to get what they want but that's how it is I guess.

-Tmac mentioned that he will have a 'better answer' come mid-july when teams starts to sign FAs. It's a pety, yet smart, move by him to see what the teams that covet him will do to build around him and his new teammates. Who can the Rockets acquire? How much cap do they have? I'm pretty sure Tmac can see that if Francis, Cat, and Cato goes to Orlando, we'll have some holes to fill. So I think that instead of just pushing to get Tmac, we better sign some players that can help our team...regardless of whether or not Mcgrady does come.
