Unfortunately I think there may be another team who could come into play here. I could see the Mavs trying to lure T-Mac then offer a package of Finley, Walker + picks for T-Mac & Hill (and what ever to make the #'s match).

The Magic get rid of dead weight and Cuban would look at Hill's contract as a luxuray tax.

Don't you forget what TMac wants is very important here. He can scare off any team by not extending his contract next year.

however, why the heck would the magic want walker and finely. Walker is garbage, and finely is getting old. They would get rid of hills contract but the magic would still suck then.

If Tmac now wants to leave Orlando, or is even talking about it, is he finally giving up all hope of a serious comeback from Grant Hill? That would be good for us Rocket fans, but I'm sad for Hill.

TMac is fundamental. How can you not get TMAC for Francis straight up. Francis is a turnover prone player and not fundamental, that's why he ain't fitting into the JVG system which require players to be fundamental. That's why Jim Jackson fit in cuz he's a fundamental player. Mobley don't fit he's just a jack up spot shooters and tend to be erratic and he has no fundamental. This ROX team needs more fundamental players...i have said this already during the season. ROX's GM should do whatever to get TMAC now that he wants to be ROX.

Just remember how Tmac said he wished he could play with a center like Yao Ming, after the rockets-magic game where Yao got his then career high 37 points.

If Tmac were a smart man, he'd team up with TD of the spurs or with Yao. Within 2 or 3 years, Shaq will be crap, so it's Yao's time to shine. Seriously, who's gonna stop this guy?

I believe scouts are scouring the world for big 7 footers. There are about 3 guys in this years draft that are 7'3 or above, but from what scouts have said they're very raw, lack fundamentals and they doubt they can make a big impact in the league. Projects at best. Yao's got no competition. But, he will face constant double and triple teams. That's when Tmac comes in.

Shaqs on the downslope and I doubt he'd win another championship if the Lakers get blown up this year and the Spurs don't have anyone to trade with the Magic.

Now, let's hope Tmac is a smart man.:D

Sounds good, but it's still just talk. We'll be seeing a lot of talk this offseason, I'm not getting excited about anything yet.

i think it is a win win situation here, if we get Tmac fine, but I am interested in the Magic trading the pick for big men. We can give them Cato, or Taylor, and or a future pick or something. Imagine Cato in the East, Ben Wallace II. We then draft Okafor for ourselves.

Most likely non of these scenarios happen though, its all pipe dreaming.

    YAY!!!!!!!!!

    :D

lol Well, just a small release of unsure excitement. Afterall it is just talk so far. But still, the talk involves Houston from the words of T-mac and in a positive light.
So, still something to be somewhat excited about. :)

Btw, T-mac seems to be more specific over the "why" he'd like to be in Houston and in a Rocket's uni. Speaks of the type of big man he likes, which of course implies Yao. And has used the words "most likely", unlike that SA and LA rumor of "probably". And remember, it's not the first time T-mac has expressed his desire to play with such a big man as Yao.

So, yes, all talk, but still, worth being a bit excited about. :D

If I were Orlando and I was going to deal with the Rox, this is the trade I believe I would demand :

TMac/Howard - Stevie and TE. It gets me out of Howard's contract (superfluous with Okafor in any regard), gives me room to maneuver and use the TE for what I want.

If I were Rox, I still say 'yes'.

If CD makes this happen, everyone who voted to fire him should be banned for 24 hours.

    If it doesn't happen...fire him!

That would be too easy for us. Getting Tmac and still keeping Cat and Cato. Where do I sign up. Our lineup would be.

    Cat/Wilks/Brent Barry?with MLE
    Tmac/Cat/ JJ
    JJ/Tmac/ Boki
    MoT/Cato/Witherspoon
    Yao/Cato/MoT

We would be the best defensive team in the league. Cat gets to cover shorter PG's instead of Guys like Kobe and Tmac and can you imagine guys like Bibby or Jwill trying to cover Cat in a post up situation. If Kobe can't do it, certainly Bibby and Jwill won't have a chance.

They would much rather get rid of Hill's contract. Howard is only making the MLE which isn't expensive for a back up. I see them wanting Cato or Cat and making us eat hills contract.

I just want to put in a word of warning; not to dampen the spirits, cause if we can land McGrady, I'm obviously all for it, BUT...

Being in Toronto, I saw him do this the last time. He told about 3 or 4 teams that they were his first choice, and also told Toronto that he was seriously considering stating. later he admitted most of this wasn't true, and it was pretty obvius he was A) enjoying the attention, and B) trying to drive up his value.

Now he's older, and may have grown and I don't see that he needs t worry about his value, but this is a similar pattern, ie several seemingly conflicting remarks about where he;d like to go having people in a few cities convinved that thery're his first choice.

I hope to hell he means what he says about us, but as I said, I;ve seen this before, and maybe we'll be the Magic this time...or maybe we'll be the Bulls.

That's why all the qualifyers on what is said, including by him. He reminds me of C-Webb's 'free agent tour' when he desired every team the Sax were playing that night.

However, if TMac does come, great. Done deal? Not if Jerry West were the GM is it a done deal -- at this point.

Speaking of The Logo, and his desire for star power, don't count on him 'recruiting' TMac and having a package to offer the Magic in return.

Decision time is apparently 6 weeks away. That is an eternity -- particularly in the dog years of BBS Threads and postings...

Wishful thinkin...I know this before I even say this....but is it at all possible...by some ungodly outside chance that the T MAC deal can get done without Stevie as part of the deal......maybe offering Cat, MO, Cato, or some sort of combination with our 7 million Trade exception...or better yet if the deal includes stevie find some sort of creative way to also pry the Number 1 with it????? I know....wishful thinkin....but the sh** sure is fun:D ;)

It is just my surmissal that the flexibility offered would be the best possible for Orlando. I'd rather keep the TE and ship Cato to Disney World.
