Guy. If players are open, he's going to deliver the ball. He's probably one of the most unselfish All-Stars in the NBA besides PGs of course. Chuck Hayes' PPG average used to rely solely on Tracy's play making.
Alright fine. But passing the ball to the open player and actually running Adelmans offense are 2 different things.
They would rather either: A. Make excuses for the way he has often conducted himself over the last 12 years B. Practice willful amnesia and pretend he has been Kobe-ish with his determination and focus over the last 12 years. Meanwhile, the rest of us know that when someone acts and performs a certain way it takes more than some summer workout videos and a press conference to believe he has truly changed. Look, team McGrady, we all want him to perform well because that is what is best for the team. I hope he goes out there and drops 28/6/6 every single night. I hope he plays defense like Battier, works hard like Yao and becomes the player he always could have been. The problem is we know he always sets expectations high and then fails to reach them. To be honest, it gets a little frustrating as a fan to see your franchise player give less effort on and off the court than almost everyone else on the squad. That's why the guy catches hell. Even after all of the letdowns I want to see him succeed because that will make the team better.
I am not defending TMac or saying he's the best ever or if this report is true or it isn't, but... I wished I could give NEGATIVE feedback for crap like this. Threads like these just throw gasoline on fire. As soon as someone gets the right to start threads, they start making people get mad at each other because they show a difference of opinion and change the GARM into the D&D. Man, the off-season is SO SLOW.
i would almost prefer them to be together the entire year, we are going to need all of the chemistry we can get, cause we lack size this year, and that is going to test us to the end
Could it be possible that he was answering questions directed at him and his rehab specifically? Come on and relax a little with the negativity for a change...
This is a Chronicle article, bro. I think even with all the T-mac hating that's done on this site, you probably beat that with all your nit-picking and b*t*h*n* about other members.
actually i'm surprised he didn't pick the lakers to win it all again in the press conf....maybe next time.....if they ask him of course...
From watching Rick and Tracy's interview, I get the notion that the Rockets are saying, "Let the Phone start ringing, Tracy is now on the table to the highest bidder."
IIRC, they tried it at first....resistance was going on...then Tmac and Yao went out and they went to it.....and first Yao came back...and they stuck with it.....then Scola started, then Tmac came back...and they went on a run. At least that is how I recall it happening. DD
We will see. Bt with all those young guys, rookies I am afraid we may start something like 1-9. I really do. Let's face it. Brooks&Scola duo is not capable of winning games yet. Ariza will have to do a lot on offense as well. That's why he is not playing yet. I strongly belive he would be capable of playing NOW and he would be better than he was last year. But they just want to make sure. At least it looks that way.
Less talk, more action. "I feel back to my old self. Strong, I feel like I'm upbeat. I will definitely be a different player from the start of the season and the second half of the season will be a different story. Now I feel like I'm back." -- McGrady in January 2009, after taking 2 weeks off.
You have to admit, the 2nd half of the season was a different story. First half - bad McGrady Second half - no McGrady
