microfracture is a tough surgery to come back from. i don't think tmac lied when he said he felt good numerous times, b/c he usually said those things after prolonged breaks. of course, his knee is going to feel good after long breaks. his problem is the knee acts up when he plays more and more games. so we'll see nearly 1.5 years out if his knee can be consistent. if it is, it wouldn't surprise me to see him be most improved. if it isn't, well, he should retire like i said numerous times.
I know, I know. But last season I felt like he didin't even try. And the motivation he had talked about, he showed no signs of that at all. I think he is. But he may still get injured in the next 5 days.
He does look bulkier in that picture. I would think he would want to be lean if he's trying to avoid injury on his knee.
http://www.nba.com/pistons/video/2010/09/28/Trainingcampreportday1m4v-1425590/index.html ^ mcgrady's interview after the first day of training camp. looks a bit pessimestic.
Detroit is not gonna win anything, so they might as well throw McGrady out there and let him shoot. 26ppg (42%fg) would be nice to see from T-Mac. I know it's not gonna happen, but I hope he lights up the Rockets in a losing effort.
Is t-mac injured again? According to the boxscore, he hasn't played any minutes. http://www.nba.com/games/20101008/MILDET/gameinfo.html?ls=gt2hp0011000028
detroit trainer said after tmac was signed that don't expect too much tmac in the preseason. i think his concept is to take it easy with tmac. there was an article about it.
From "tired after 3 quarters" in the playoffs to "training camp sapped my legs and I need to rest during the preseason games" ..... not a great sign for those expecting comeback player of the year.
Maybe it was true that T-Mac's body isn't made for basketball. i think that's what a doctor told him early in his career.
