Hahaha, McGrady is a joke compared to Kobe now. Let's hope he gets healthy this season and gives us a good season.
It isn't aboutthe trainer...the other guy or Grover. It is about tmac. And he WAS hurting. That is a key point. Now...he has been fixed up and we will see if he can recover. Mcgrady is without a question a GREAT talent. Trainers come and go and they are only tools that these players use. Basically, i think once the trainers get to this level they are about the same. It is about the player and if tmac is now healthy and motivated then it is now up to him...not a trainer...and it wasn't a trainers fault for his lack of fire the past years. It was injury...or so he says...and it may very well be that. He appears motivated...appears to be taking it seriously...appears to be working hard...appears to be getting back to a very good, talented player again Let's see...I hope he comes back strong. Rockets need him that is for sure. If not...then we can trade him...but let's see which tmac shows up first
I read a great article talking about if you have a bad trainer, shoulder problems, back problems, and knee problems occur the most.
I'm a little shocked and slightly curious now that Grover has made a public bet with McGrady that he will have him dunking like the Toronto days. I believe that is pretty much impossible but even if he has him dunking and moving like his first year in Houston I will be very surprised. Grover must have some Zen Master-like powers of motivation to get a guy like McGrady to actually work hard on his rehab.
TMac can still put up 20ppg ... on 30 shots maybe. I can't believe people don't understand that ppg is a horrible measure.
I truly believe He can still average that much. The team does not have enough offensive weapons thus His immediate comeback would be a great help. His game may dip but not to the extent that His scoring ability would suffer. He may not be like the old Tmac that can get 30 pts in most nights but He will still be effective.
How can anyone possibly make this kind of claim at this point. I am glad to hear that things are going well for him, but what makes the idea that he will come back and play well any more likely than him coming back and being nothing more than a fat expiring?
It is not a given but I believe that We will not see a drastic drop in his game. Something like what happened to Steve Francis.
Yes, yes, and yes. Look at the shooting percentage, look at the amount of shot attempts. Heck, look at the game itself. It's not hard to achieve 20ppg+ the wrong way...
On the video, he looked prty fit. The thing is, the only incentive for him to come back is to extend or et a new contract. He is going to have to prove himself to get the money, so he will have to try his hardest. If he doesnt produce, well he wasted time training, no one signs him, no money, he wasted half a season. TMac will be good this season; him being elite is 50/50.
come on YAOZZA either you have a short term memory or you just plain and simply know nothing about TMAC except for his big mouth, failures and injuries.First of all in the interview TG talked about restoring MAC to elite status. And thats coming from a guy who trained MJ KOBE WADE among a few.And the word elite already says it all, theres no such thing as "super elite"...its either your among the elite or not.MAC was obviously not among the elite this past yr or even these past few yrs.And its TG's job to help TMAC get in best physical shape as possible to give TMAC the tools to become among the elite again w/c means in the end it all depends on how TMAC performs when he plays again. i remembered when the TMAC and the magic played against MJ and the wizards, after the game MJ took off his shoes and signed it and gave it to TMAC kind of like passing of the torch TMAC was the king that year winning his 2nd scoring championship proving himself among the elite.Did TMAC live up to the standard after all these yrs HELL NO.The guy has fallen off the pinacle and that is what this thread is about.TMAC expects to return to elite status. darko milicic are you trying to divert to something else or just trying to make us laugh?well,it aint working please.
So you want me to say, "I hope he averages 50% FG shooting this upcoming season." And him only scoring about 6 points a game? PPG is just the average thing people use.
Well Tmac is still a 6 ft 8 guard who can obviously still dunk from those videos of his training and shooting doesnt really go away that much. He was probably as injured last year as he was gonna be more of than the year this year he will be. So that means at worst Tmac is probably gonna be better than he was when he was playing last year on one leg and needed micro fracture enough obviously that a DR. prescribed it. So that 15 points and 5 assists is probably the low point of his ceiling. He had no lateral quickness to defend or make moves to the basket to dunk anymore because he was injured so that means he will probably have some of that restored and certainly be a better defender than last year and a little back to his driving to the hoop ways and dunking ways enough more so than last year to be noticed that he isnt injured like last year when he still averaged 15 points and 5 assists. So is he probably gonna score at least 18 to 20 and play defense? I say after playing on one leg and then healing up and not being injured even if he falls off a little wont be like last year when he was injured and may even be in a little shape he at least puts together 18 to 20 a game on the most down sided possibilities unless his injuries linger and he doesnt fully heal. if he returns to being just healthy and can move laterally all season you are still looking at a guy that puts up over 16 points game 5 assists and 4 rebounds in his most worst scenarios while injured and over 20 definately if healed and with some semblance of defense. Which is still elite and better than the likes of most teams best players. You got to realize Tmac again scored 15 points a night while limping. So how could he not score more than at least 17 points a night healthy? Even with a decline? Healthy and not limping and not dunking or running is still worth more than 17 a night for a Tmac player. We may even if he does come back at the begining win 51 games next year if he can score 20 a night. The team around him is that good and just added Ariza, Budinger, Taylor, and Anderson. Now Anderson is no Yao but he isnt a 6ft 6 player when Yao goes down anymore and Ariza is a healthy Artest like player to go with a healthy Tmac and all of these improved parts. Remember guys? Tmac was still a 15 point player while hurt? So what is he just slightly healthy and improved?
I really have no idea where to go on this. Most things I've read have him coming back after December and even around the All star break. However, T-Mac seems to be positive or once. That's nice to see. Instead of whining, about his teammates he's actually focusing on himself this time. Personally, I think the Rockets making the 2nd round should have changed his own mentality. In my mind, there's no question that he's better than Ron Artest (except he's not a leader at all). Most of the players except Battier and Barry(he shouldn't count) are young and will have all improved from the previous season so the role players are there but the superstar isn't. It really is "on Tracy" this time.
