<br> I'm pretty sure I tried addressing this a few months ago in this thread: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=4204202&postcount=31 <br> <br> I think this proves something at least... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br> Ok, now lets examine the "clutch" stats for T-Mac and compare them to Lebron's <br> <br> T-Mac: <br> <br> Lebron: <br> <br> <br> McGrady with better offensive and defensive stats during the last five mins. Better FG% Assisted on more plays nearly identical in free throws Lebron with more driving, McGrady only scoring on jumpers.. <br> So, even though McGrady only scored off of jumpers, they were about equal in terms of efficiency and scoring, with the slight edge going to McGrady for certain things, and Lebron for others..
As far as his defense goes, during that series (if you actually payed attention) it's ludicrous to say he wasn't the best defender we had. The guy defended everyone. On the perimeter, on the post, you name it. Sure, he is lazy at times and doesn't always defend (which superstar doesn't?) but all I'm saying is that he does step up at times...
There is no argument that McGrady has been one of the most GIFTED talents to ever play in the nba, thats why so many people call him out, b/c he has always underechive for the talent he has....the guy is 6'8 with a 7'2 wingspan, with amazing handles, ridiculous athleticism and amazing court vision...with that said his major downfall since his Orl. days has been the fact that he talks to much, he always say's he feels better, back in Orl. vs Pistons series when Orl. was up 3-1 he said that it felt great to be in the second round....and i think we all now the end result........
No doubt, when Tmac is scoring at 50% or better his teams are very hard to beat, but the problem is that he is not a consistent enough high percentage scorer, and ultimately he will keep shooting and missing during those games he is not shooting well. It is not that Tmac is not good, he is....... To me, IN MY OPINION, Tmac needs to simply become less of a volume shooter, let others do more of the heavy lifting and move off the ball. If he does all that, the team will have a lot more succes....IMO. DD
fun huh? well sometimes young players do talk too much. With time he kept talking but thats his character. Dude loves the media. Had he had playoff success nobody would even care to say something
still the knock is on your love with shooting percentage efficiency. Scrappy defensive plays, hard nosed plays with passion is as relevant as that even more so.
I agree with you, but neither of those are qualities Tracy is known for. Again Tracy is good enough to win some games by himself, perhaps that is a weakness, because he has some success at that he thinks he is good enough to do it all the time. That is the main problem, he isn't.....and that has been proven out in the playoffs. DD
The thing is even with a more efficient scorer in Wade I would want to have Tmac to surround him with his court vision.
Player A: 6 games, 247 minutes played, 41 assists, 18 turnovers Player B: 6 games, 246 minutes played, 3 assists, 8 turnovers Remind me which one is the selfish ballhog who doesn't make his teammates better?
Tmac isn't selfish, he's proven that with his awesome passing and assist numbers. But he does tend to stop the ball and slow ball movement.
LOL - it is not about assists, it is about sharing responsibility, of course TMac is good at setting up his teamates. What he is not good at is letting them set him up... If he could get good at that, the team would benefit enormously. DD
1) he only showed up in the 4th when rafer played b/c rafer did the ballhandling and tracy just finished. the first 2 games, tracy did way too much for 3 quarters. 2) he did play defense in that series. he played better than shane. see who adelman moved to guard harpring/ak: TMAC.
say that to every coach who has said something about his bball IQ and playmaking (jvg, adelman, george karl, popovich, carlisle, avery johnson...). outside of lebron james, name another "TALL" guy who can do what tracy does with his playmaking? granger? durant? joshn smith? marvin williams? they're tall and athletic too you know
I was reading up on which teams are struggling the most to make money and it shocked me that the Denver Nuggets were in the worst shape of any team in the league!!! I can't believe that! The following article was written in December of 2008 and things have become considerably worse since then so I wonder what Denver's situation looks like now. Take a look: http://www.hoopchill.com/2009/07/nba-teams-revenue-problem.html So looking at this, I thought what might be a plausible, though any trade would be unlikely with Denver since they made it to the Western Conference Finals, trade that would be alluring to a financially struggling team? This is the trade I came up with: Houston Trades: - Tracy McGrady ($23,239,561 - Expiring Contract) - Carl Landry ($3,000,000 - 2 year remaining) - Brian Cook ($3,500,000 - Expiring Contract) _________________________________________ - Total ($29,739,561) Expiring Money ($26,739,561) Denver Trades: - Carmelo Anthony ($15,779,912 - 3 Years Remaining) - Nene ($10,520,000 - 3 Years Remaining) _____________________________________________ - Total ($26, 299,912) Rockets New Line-Up: Point Guards:_____Aaron Brooks______/____Kyle Lowry Shooting Guards:__Trevor Ariza_______/___ Chase Budinger / Jermaine Taylor Small Forwards:___Carmelo Anthony___/____Shane Battier Power Forwards:___Luis Scola_________/____Nene________/ Chuck Hayes Centers:_________ David Andersen____/____Joey Dorsey__ / Yao Ming But IMAGINE a completely healthy squad with this starting 5! Point Guard:____Aaron Brooks (5-10) Shooting Guard:_Trevor Ariza (6-8) Small Forward:__Carmelo Anthony (6-9) Power Forward:__Luis Scola (6-9) Center:________Yao Ming (7-6) All you negative, hateful, no imagination in the duldrums of summer people have fun destroying a fun fantasy. . . . . . .proceed.
I see you are a master of twisting and tweaking. Wade is a pipe dream if the worst comes to the worst Tracy would be Wade's congenial partner as he gets older
1) before last year's playoffs, lebron's AVERAGE fg% is 41% in the playoffs. just to point that out 2) tracy has to take some of the blame obviously b/c he is the guy with the ball the most. but to blame him for not elevating his play is ridiculous. when yao went down in 07-08, we had ZERO playmakers outside of rafer alston and rafer DID A TON in that series in terms of helping out mcgrady. so yes, tracy will let others do what they do. it's whether they can do it.
