Then you failed to grasp the meaning of a superstar. Simple as that. Yao and Tmac were not good enough without help to put the j*zz away.
I would love to see Tmac round back into form, but I just don't see it happening. Over the years, Tmac's had a number of back and knee problems, the absolute worst areas you want to be hurt as a basketball player. I think they had taken their toll even before last year, as Tmac was obviously slowing down from his Orlando days. Tmac's return depends on the unlikely chance of him being injury-free from now on. Even then, his comeback would probably be like Grant Hill's rather than Wade's. The man's body is just broken. I don't begrudge him for it like some crazy posters here, but it's the truth.
McGrady should of fired his old TRAINER A LONG TIME AGO. Bad trainers lead to mostly this: -Shoulder Problems -Knee Problems -Back Problems T-Mac has experienced all of that. I hope he comes back healthy and as good as he was such as in 04'.
I'm sure many people will believe what they see when they see it. In the meantime, we just have to take things for what they are worth. I think it's kinda pointless to try and find a negative meaning in everything that T-Mac says or does. Seems to me that he is excited about where he is right now healthwise and where he could possibly end up. Tim Grover standing behind T-Mac with his own positive prognosis is only making it better. None of us truly know if T-Mac is being genuine or fraudulent but I for one believe he is being genuine because I'm excited about what he brings on the basketball court if he is HEALTHY. I realize that you don't have to agree but if you don't why don't you wait until you see it/believe it before gracing this board with more of your pessimisstic logic.
If he regained 07-08 form (minus the ankle and Philly game drama) I would be absolutely estatic. I think 04-05 McGrady is totally unreasonable. He was 25 years old then, and I see no way he ever regains that speed and explosiveness at the tender age of 30.
That i know. Trust me. I was basically just stating to DD that it is impossible for McGrady to change is whole game. He said McGrady needs to change his whole game to extend his career or something like that.
Oh another thought...how cool would it be to have McGrady at SG and Ariza starting at 3? With AB at point and either Scola or Landry at PF, that has the potential to be a highly entertaining lineup. I expect Anderson to be respectable at C as well.
For who then?? Im really getting tired of people saying that He needs to get traded blah blah blah he doesn't fit this Offense blah blah blah. Look at Portland. They had a different style of play from Sacramento. Rick is going to use his players to the best of their ability. Sorry to bust your bubble but McGrady isn't going anywhere. If you think he needs to be traded because he doesn't fit the offense or because he is a "ball stopper" then Yao needs to go, Hayes needs to go, Battier needs to go. They are not RA type of players. IDK if thats what your stating in why McGrady needs to go but you can't judge a man on an injury year.
I've played in tournaments also and trust me when I twisted my ankle and sprained my knee I wasn't able to move and play to the best of my ability also. All of that goes through your mind. Even if you are mentally strong your body is not going to let you move. If his knees holds up great. IDK if its possible but he would win the Most Improved Player Award. Im not sure he can win it though since he has been in the league for a while. I have to check.
This video gives me some hope...TMAC at least seems confident...if nothing else, he seems a little tougher mentally...for now.
All I said was that if McGrady does not want to change his game the team will trade him. I don't know what for? I just believe that his style of hog the ball is not conducive to winning it all. Perhaps he has been humbled by all of this and saw his teamates have more success without him than they have ever had with him, and he (like Hakeem) will realize the team is better if everyone is empowered. I am sorry that you are tired of it, and it is not just one year, it is his entire career, and attitude throughout. I am not changing my opinion about the guy, if he plays the same style the team will (IMO) trade him. DD
Yeah i know but with comments like Von is better for this team and Corey Maggette would be perfect for the Rockets you can't help but laugh and get at him for that. Considering that he wants McGrady gone because he is a "ball stopper" and all the guys who he is in love with are 10x worse than McGrady.
My definition of a superstar and yours are probably not the same.....to me TMac is not a super star player.... DD
i would love for tmac to be helthy but his confident bs is getting old to me. the way he tries to act cool and make strong atatements just makes me sick to my stomach. And Grover is worse. Always looking for a camera. Why don't they just shut the f$$ck up and show it on the court.
Won't win most improved but maybe comeback player of the year. not sure if they offer that anymore though
There is a difference between ball stopper and finisher. Both Von and Maggette do stop the ball, but when you shoot 44% and 46% you are no longer a stopper you are an efficient finisher. If Tracy shot a decent percentage he would no longer be a ball stopper too. And neither Von, nor Maggette are being paid $23 million this year, and neither of them tossed their teamates under a bus, and screwed over the organization by announcing a surgery on a personal web page. Tracy is a flawed, talented player, I hope that at 30, he matures, because that is ALL that is holding him back....maturity. If he wants to be elite, he has to show it on the court....and he has not done that in several years. DD
