Lets put his bball skills aside I'm talking about the person here. Kids should not look up to Tmac. He's not setting a good example.
I've played with an injury before on my highschool team. When you have a knee injury, it hits you both mentally and physically. You do not want to move at all let alone moving on the court and playing basketball. You feel that you can't get pass the defender and you feel that you are going get block once you get to the rim. We have to believe in T-mac and not bash him until he returns to the court and prove what he can or cannot do.
In dubio pro reo To be fair I give him the the benefit of doubt in RA's first year. Everybody was going through a transition from JVG's stagnant offense You could make a point that you don't like his character of work ethic but hey, it could be his final year why not treat him friendly for a change
Thanks for posting the whole article. hate it when people posts a incomplete article from ESPN insider.
Agree. I was referring to the T-Mac we see in the playoffs, not the injured one from last year. Not sure I agree on that second part though. Throughout the season you could question his effort occasionally, but when playoff time rolls around there is no question in my mind he gives 100%. I'm going to go with Grover on this and say he'll be back pretty close to prime T-Mac.
The Tmac you see in the playoffs is the same one you see in the regular season, he just plays more minutes, and takes more shots. And that is one of the biggest reasons his teams have failed to get out of the first round. It really has been "on him"...he needs to make it "on us" to really have playoff success. DD
What do most people consider the "elite" T-Mac? Personally, the last time I think I saw the elite T-Mac was in 04-05. The run we had at the end of the season and against the Mavericks was pretty sweet. Both series against the Jazz, T-Mac did step up his play, but it just wasn't what I fully expected.
you're an elite player if you make the all-nba teams b/c the lists usually comprise of the top 15-20 players in the league. the 04-05 tmac was an all-world player, way better than elite imo.
I don't remember. Did he make the All-NBA team during the two Jazz series seasons? And I will have to disagree with you. The "elites" of this league are the players that are top 1 percent. Kobe, LeBron, and Wade are obvious elites. I wouldn't consider Dirk, Paul Pierce, Tim Duncan (now), Yao, Roy, and etc. as the elites. Of course, we all have different meanings.
