Why does everyone think when you turn 30 you are past your prime? How old is Kobe?? How old was Hakeem when he won championships? how old was Jordan? I think Tmac will def come back strong and have a few more good years left in him...this isnt football you know....GO ROCKETS!!!

30 year old NBA players are physically past their prime. The differences between McGrady and guys like Dream, Jordan and Kobe are:

-health (the other guys were relatively healthy throughout their careers. McGrady was not been)

-the other guys stay(ed) in great shape year round

-the other guys kept adding elements to their game. As they lost explosiveness they added offensive moves to cover for that. Kobe is without a doubt much less explosive and quick than he was 5 years ago but his jumper is deadly and his footwork down low is almost flawless. He has become a smarter player.

McGrady, from what I can see, has not added anything to his game in the last 8 years and his jumper and free throws are worse than earlier in his career.

Uhhh yeah like last year right before the trade deadline when you torpedo'ed them trading you by announcing your surgery and shutting it down for the season.

    Great communication. Great leader.

LMAO. People are still holding on to this like its fact? Because whoever wanted to trade for Tmac was doing it for his stellar play that year right? So that whole surgery just killed the other teams hopes for Tmac to continue his stellar year with them. Face it, Tmac wasn't going to get traded. People were calling Morey to get Tmac, not the other way around. If they really wanted to trade TMac, don't you think he'd be gone by now? And if Tmac is as cool with the Front Office has he says he is, Tmac will at least be here for the season.

Some people are acting like Tmac's time with the Rockets has been nothing but negatives. Really, Tmac's only bad year was last year, 08 09. Every other year with the Rockets, he has done nothing but help the team win. This really shows the short memory span of clutchfans, the place where the team is only as good as the last game played.

I'm not trying to justify Tmac's performance last year. He's at complete fault for not telling the team about his injury before telling the media. And also at fault for not doing his work to get into shape during the 2008 offseason, which is why he missed so many games for us last year. IMO these are the only two mistakes I can think of that we can blame Tracy for (unless someone wants to refresh my memory). While these two mistakes question his decision-making, it shouldn't outweigh what Tracy's done for us the previous years he's been with the Rockets.

And with these two incidents, I can't think of anything else to fault Tracy for. Unless you want to pinpoint that he HIMSELF caused the Rockets lose in the first round, or blame him for being injured all the time, or making bad faces while sitting on the bench.

I bought 2 more McGrady jerseys a month ago and I don't regret it (despite him changing his number). These were Orlando Magic jerseys because, well, they look much, much better than thr Rockets jerseys.

Come on, McGrady! Let's put up that 30 ppg. You have the team to yourself now. Scola...absolutely not a true second option.

This makes no sense at all. What do you think M.J. and Kobe did? How about D-Wade when he won it in 05-06? And to top it off T-Mac averages more apg then all three of those guys.

I don't get it. Why do people care how much money someone else spends on his business? There's constant complaining about how much McGrady makes, which doesn't affect any of us directly (unless Les lurks the board).

However, few complain about situations where their actual money (taxes) is taken away and wasted on stupid things.

Is it jealousy? What's the motivation?

People would rather see that $20M being used on players who actually show up.

I don't think anyone really begrudges Tracy for getting the contract, it's his failure to live up to the obligations that come with it.

It does affect us as fans because it's 20 million being wasted that could be used for other players.

Amen, brother. Truer words have seldom been spoken. I'm not a tmac hater or lover but the hate is beyond frustrating.

other players like who??? You do realize that before this offseason we had no roster spots for adding additional players.. If your going to trade McGrady and his contract a realistic move is going to have to be a 3 for 1 player.

Plus Like Les said you don't just trade a player like McGrady just because he is going through a tough time. If that was the case who knows how many guys would have been traded all throughout the league
