You honestly believe a guy like T-Mac at this point cares about winning? If the guy goes to a bad team at least he gets the opportunity to take control, on a good team he would have to be second/third fiddle to whoever is already there.

If he averages 20+ pts on a bad team, you don't think other teams will notice? Please, he's already got the name, all he needs to do is show he is healthy and can compete day in day out. He'll get a huge contract if he shows anything close to what he was a few years back.

Both Tmac and the rockets organization have handled this situation poorly. The devorced couple are hating each other.

Now, the result is bad for both sides.

Hello, the rockets organization is just fine, many good players want to play here if they can. Do you know Tmac who also hate his former Raptors, and Orlando? Do you know anything about reputation of TMac before you blame my rockets?

The rockets were dishonest and they are as much to blame as tmac. But for the stunt he pulled last yr I can't sympathize with him

its not about winning but exposure

you think any of those teams will make the playoffs or are on national tv on regular basis? hey may get his stats on a bad team but he wont get the national spotlight he feels he deserves. Right now many of those teams are just out of the playoffs and even after the deadline no way he can bring them into contention.

Thats why he wants new york...they are a bad team he can get his stats but with all the media there he is going to get noticed no matter what. who is going to notice him putting up stats in philly? milwaukee? etc? no one

espn/tnt isnt going to magically go "oh lets start televising the wizards because tracy mcgrady is on there!" he doesnt have that star power anymore (though he could regain it of course)

the guy hasnt really played in 2 seasons he has a long way to go to getting his star power back. being on a team that is playoff bound even if he is a second fiddle would do better for his image...he can still show he can play...at this points i think most gms know if he can play he will be able to put up stats but can he win is a different story? if he is on a playoff bound team then he can show he can play, get national media exposure and if he wins totally reform the player he is and really get a contract better than what he probably should given his age and history of injuries

I blame both sides. Both sides handle this badly. I believe the rockets organization should have handled this situation much better. Honestly, I am disappointed by the rockets. I am a rockets fan, have followed the team for a while. Tmac is just a player. The rockets existed before Tmac and will exist after Tmac. The rockets organization should look at a big picture. Regardless of Tmac being right or wrong, the rockets organization should always put themselves in the best situation for the future.

You are probably right...................it does make more sense for him to go to a playoff bound team. I had my t-mac hating shades on, could not see the light

fwiw - my memory of all the clever commentary by the cognoscenti when the Rockets were competitive this year was about the magic of the chemistry. I know there is no use arguing with one afflicted with MDS - but it was clear to many of the us the team was holding on - cheering for and hoping for McGrady's return.

Of course - the whole weirdness of the 7 minutes of the 1st Qtr for 6 games - is perfectly normal to the MDS infected - but to the players it doubtless cast a shroud of insanity over the whole team and organization.

    What?!?!?

So you're saying the team was playing the way they did at the beginning of the season because they were waiting on their "saviour" Tracy McJesus????

That's the biggest joke I've heard since becoming a member....

In your opinion the Rockets had great chemistry because they had Tracy McGrady on the mind? I 100% have to disagree, what transpired at the start of the season was cause of the exact opposite to that effect.

Tracy was injured Yao was injured, no wondering who would be playing and who wouldn't. They had their team and went out to play Rick Adelman's style offense. Now they have been slowed because the ball has not been moving as it had in the start of the season plus teams have now scouted the offense and learned to slow us by locking down AB and Scola to begin games.

In no way I see Tracy having an effect on their awesome play because he was returning to the line up soon.

If anything you'd see that now, with the swirling rumors with trades it is destroying a lot of what the team built and is distracting the team from focusing on the game.
