What reason does he have to be subjective?

That reminds me of what McLady‘'s saying when he's about to leave Orlando. "It's on me." i.

Man you guys took one statement and ran with it.....

First off last year was both T-Mac and Managment fault so that is neither here nor there....

This year T-Mac has been handling the situation pretty well, basically staying away from the media and basically from the Rockets organization.

Now SAS is correct about one thing... The players talk to one another about Coaching and Management to help them decided if they would like to play with that team.. It's no different than you or I talking to friends, co-workers or such to learn about a company..

The way that the organization has handled T-Mac this year has not been very good; no matter what has happened in the past you can't let personal issues take over and that is what they have done.

I would not call the SAS an interview.. More than likely SAS called T-Mac up just to see what was going on and some where later in the conversation he asked him a question know that T-Mac is going to basically be honest.... But I truly think T-Mac was just talking to him as a FRIEND and letting his frustration out and that's about it...

Now what SAS did was all on him and there is no way I can blame T-Mac for that...

My only gripe with how the Rockets handled the McGrady situation was their dishonesty. Its the difference between what Tracy did last year and what they have done this year. At least when Tracy did his little stunt it was not with bad intentions, he simply was not healthy and he felt obliged to play (which is why he kept coming in and out). The Rockets this year led McGrady on, never told him their true intentions (of moving on without him). If I was McGrady I would be disgusted honestly. Put yourself in his shoes. You have a career threatening surgery, work your ass off all summer to get yourself back to being a good player (which I think he has honestly), and once your back the organization you play for deceives you. I think that is where his beef is honestly, and its 100% legitimate.

This is on Adelman imo. He has railroaded this situation and IMO ultimately made it harder for Morey to do his job. Not only will it be harder for him to trade for Tracy, other FA's are going to wonder "what will happen to me if I go there?". Not a good look.

You have to wonder what Yao thinks about this. Tmac had glaring faults, but the dude had impact on this team for years. To treat a veteran this way was a classless move by RA. I hope we dont pay for it in the long run, with FAs avoiding houston like the plague.

I disagree. There is nothing wrong with the Rockets organization. McGrady's attitude is the problem.

Bottom line is if you can't be productive, you are not going to play. McGrady had his chance to be the man on a great team in 08-09, but he didn't take advantage of that opportunity. And now the Rockets have moved on.

I would think, or hope that McGrady was smart enough to realize that he was talking to his friend who happens to work in the media, and would say "Hey SAS, this should be off the record. I don't want to stir any drama, especially after what happened last time I talked to you." Seems like this friend of McGrady's has been mouthing off a bit, you would think McGrady would realize that he shouldn't say anything to him on record.

It was only a matter of time before the divorce got ugly. We've been lucky up to this point, but you can't honestly sit there and tell me you felt this thing was going to go down without any sparks from the McGrady camp. Hell, I'm surprised it lasted this long.

I highly doubt that i think he may realized he could get traded to a "wasteland" of the nba and i dont think he wants that. He isnt going to get any exposure playing for a team like the wizards, the nets or the sixers etc...

Does anybody have the definitive facts - the solidly sourced chronology of events?

From what I can tell - the actual hard reporting is accurate. McGrady took the Christmas break after the Orlando game. Flew to Jersey - got "fired" as an active player and was told to stay away. There is no sourced, verifiable reporting to the contrary.

As an objectve matter - i.e. check the wins vs. losses - the Rockets have essentially crumbled since that date. If someone has accurate reporting - not tinged with MDS - I would like to read it.

A big part of winning in sports is attitude. You don't act like TMAC did, throughout, and expect to get your way whenever you're ready to play again... and even if you do, you don't go in slamming doors and demanding that your coach give you this or that.

I wanted things to work out with him, but they didn't. After all that had happened, I hoped he'd come and contribute this season... But working back into the team wasn't enough. . He wanted to call the shots. He always wants to call the shots, and when things don't go his way... he goes all Toronto on us. He could have taken his 8 minutes and done something with them, rather than telling the coach how to run the team and throwing tantrums when he didn't capitulate. After how he acted last season, the least he could do is take what time was given to him, cash his checks, and stfu. If he played well enough, he'd be in by now, had his attitude been right. It wasn't, and still isn't.... and while trying to prove to other teams that he's worth their investment, he's off trash talking yet another organization. Just not smart.

I don't see how the Rockets have done anything but what they've done, and I hope the rest of the players in the league ARE watching, last thing we need is someone else treating us this way.

We should be thanking SAS and TMAC, however, as this sort of disinformation might trick someone into thinking none of this is TMAC's fault, and that he's " still a quality athlete that only cares about winning and being treated fairly."

Trading McGrady is much easier said than done. He's the highest paid player in the league and has been out pretty much the last two seasons.

I agree, its almost like Adelman baited Tmac by giving Taylor minutes in the same games. Once Tmac was told to leave the team, Taylor was on the bench again.

Why the hell would they call him to NJ only to tell him to go home again?

I know I'm late on responding to this but....

How did we stoop to his level? From my recolection we were forced into this by none other than the sob master himself.

We were working on bringing him back steadily. We would see how the practices went and how he fared by playing him about roughly 8 minutes per game, we still gave him a chance to work with the organization and come back to playing shape and form.

In the meantime, Tracy decides to suit up on his personal target date of return. He decides to plead his case for wanting more minutes. And he decides to leave New Jersey because he is not happy with the answer to his question.

All these results came from his decisions ultimately. So, honestly who gives a rats a** how disgusted he is with the Rockets. No one cares Tracy, you leave when Morey says you leave! No sooner no later.

That's what happens when you act like a shackass to your employer, never bite the hand that feeds you.

Exactly what I said when I read this. I'm surprised it took him this long to say something.
