I don't think we doubt Almu's credibility. I for one don't doubt they have had discussions, but 95%+ of trades actuallly discussed GMs don't happen. I think it makes sense for a discussion to happen. My guess is they end up not doing it. Marbury is just that much of a cancer in my mind.

Most of us are neither mad at nor disdainful of Almu. He is the messenger. Personally, my anger is directed at Houston's management team if they are even remotely considering such a move.

I think if we do make this trade, we will cut Marbury or play him 20- minutes as the backup SG.

You mean the team that won 50 games *with* Shane Battier and are in last place without him? Look at the Knicks (or the Grizzlies)- they have all kinds of "talent." You need players who can play D (Shane with *5* blocks last night) and fit in with the offense. Shane Battier is a better player for the Rockets than Rudy Gay. Also, screw Stromile Swift. It was addition by subtraction getting rid of that moron. I'll take Luis Scola every day over that scrub.

Its a pretty one sided affair so far if you ask me. There are absolutely no sources from Houston that are confirming these talks, they are always from the counter party.

I wouldn't mind trading T-mac, but trading for Marbury is crazy. I would rather go for Jermaine O'neal from the Pacers or a package from Dallas if that were to happen.

Open your eyes and compare their stats. Shane is vastly over-rated as a defensive player, but, even so, Gay is already at his level defensively. Would you take LaBron James over Gerald Wallace? Wallace is good but there is no contest as to who is better. Same comparison of Rudy Gay and Shane Battier.

thing that gets overlooked in all the trade-mania, is that NONE of this talk about Mac being unhappy or his teammates being unhappy or even a peep from Houston about them not being happy with McGrady has been verified.

Seems all these talks are in existence purely as responses to fan-talk.

I have yet to see any VERIFIABLE information to the contrary.

and then on top of allthat, this proposed trade scenario makes zero sense from Houston's standpoint.

so I call BS on the source....NY may want McGrady, but I seriously doubt Houston even listened....most certainly when they heard the name "Stephon Marbury"

Im almost willing to put money on this...it aint happening, and if it did, Im afraid I would have to regain my life back because I would no longer be watching the Rockets.

You wouldn't stop. It would be like the days when we were "forced" to cheer for Scottie Pippen simply because he was a Rocket. It's a gagging thought but true.

Why didn't we ask for Memphis' 24th pick in the Rudy Gay trade wreck? This is Morey -- great at numbers but not the sharpest trader in the box.

What makes you think we didn't ask for it?

Because, considering the trade disparity, we didn't get it. I'd hate to think he had a lack of testosterone as well.

    And you won't.

How would that go down? "TMac unhappy, wants a trade."

"AGAIN?!?!" the whole world would say.

For those who are against this trade, why not listen to some opinions from the other side?

This is what Mitch Lawrence at N.Y. Daily has to say

I mean, I really hate the "half man half a season" lable. But this has really been the trend for TMac and will likely get worse. If we can get an unprotected top pick in the deal, I can't see we lose.

I would be shocked if the Rockets made this trade. I know McGrady's value is low but this would be very bad. I do fear that something like this could happen.Almu is a reliable guy,who has posted some insider stuff in the past.
I just hope Morey and Les don't do it.

Now that the offense is rolling, why not at least see how TMac plays into the mix? I mean for chrissake we arent talking about Terrance Morris......

    no thumbs

    I'm afraid I'm not joking

My Rocket fandom eats way too much into my real life, but I put up with it because it is a team of hard workers that make me feel good to cheer for. They arent the most talented guys around, but they find ways to succedd.

I can relate to that, I've had to make do with less talent also.

There have been very few moves that the Rockets have done I dont understand
    I understood the Griffin thing
    I understood the Barkley one
I even understood the Battier one....

but trading a top 10 player for the cancer that is Stephon Marbury is pure insanity and I can not nor will I understand.

Like I said before, these rumors are exactly that...rumors.

I have not seen one piece of verifiable evidence that says McGrady is not happy as a Rocket, I have seen zero evidence that he has quit on the team, I have seen zero evidence that he is anything less than the guy that led a over-acheiving team to 50+ wins last year.

Until I do, I see ZERO reason to trade the guy....and I just cant support an organization that does something so phenomonally stupid as what is propsed here.

Stats are overrated. Rudy Gay's team is in last place.
