Come on... a NY sports writer drew up his own wet dream of trading for TMAC and getting rid of Marbury. Isiah just said that all his players are "untouchable" Now all the NY media is picking it up believing it is some legit rumor. Even if there is some truth to it, its all on the NY side. They want to get rid of their s**t. I saw the article this morning but decided not to post it because its just some guy's dream. WORST THREAD/TRADE EVER
Unless the Rockets are in full rebuild mode, this trade is not going to happen. And as long as Yao Ming is still in his prime, the Rockets will not go into full rebuild mode.
You're correct. I got so mad I couldn't see straight and went looking for the first large expiring contract I could find.
This wouldn't be a short range deal. Marbury still gets paid 20 million next year. If anything, it's a trade for a couple years down the road. And, yes, if we aren't getting a first round draft pick out of it, then it's r****ded.
Look, I wouldn't be suprised if NY wants McGrady for Starbury... but why would Houston want Starbury for McGrady? I mean... all the **** people b**** about McGrady for are there for Starbury-- only there is twice as much os such ****...and his game is about only half as good as McGrady's. Man... look at all the TMac b****ing threads. How many Starbury b****ing threads will there be? We do that for a pick? I mean, it better be a guaranteed top 3 pick... Beside, I thought we are trying to take our shots this year, too... not doing something long term. About that 1 year off contract thing: If the Rockets want to save money.. wouldn't they want more years off? How about some expiring contracts or something? Just 1 year off isn't much when you have to deal with Marbury for 2 years.
this is the dumbest **** i have ever heard or read this better not happen see if tmac fits first u have till the middle of february to trade him if he doesn't
If rumor's true then you've got to think that there's a third team involved. It doesn't really make sense any other way. I've got to assume Adelman's involved, and would he really want Starbury?
First I respect Almu and any member whith that many years.. With that being said WTF!!! Dude I hope that friend/source was joking. That is a horrible horrible trade for Houston. Now if Starbury has a expiring contract after this year then maybe I can see why Houston would think about it.
Are the Knicks also working a deal to get KG in exchange for Malik Rose? What about sending Crawford to Cleveland for Lebron?
I wouldn't be stupid enough to use a reporter as a credible, rock-solid source. Like anyone tells them what's really going on, anyway...
And wait a minute... Why would Van Gundy want to sign up for that friggin train wreck? He wants to coach again, sure, but there has to be 3 or 4 better offers out there. He'll get TMac, very talented buy... but does he really want to deal with Zach and Curry (nice kid... not bright student) and the rest of the crew?
Though I would NEVER executed that trade, because we don't need another point guard, you guys have to realize that TMACs value is wildly inflated on clutchfans. If we trade mac, we are simply not going to get what most here consider a fair return. This is an injury prone player, that has been known to not give his best, that has never left the first round despite being up 2 games on his opponent 3 times in his career, that is on the decline, and has a good chance of retiring when his contract expires in 2010. Make no mistake Tmac is no all-star level talent anymore. If it weren't for those generous chinese votes, he probably wouldn't taste the all star game again in his career. And thats why I am scared that Almu is right, because i do believe marbury + a likely top 10 pick is about in line with his value.
That's ridiculous. Marbury can't even touch 20ppg, let alone what Tracy averages. Marbury isn't even averaging more assists than Tmac this year. To say that Tmac isn't an allstar level talent is ridiculous. And even if he isn't, Marbury is borderline scrub talent. Not because he's a bad player, but because he's incredibly selfish. Why would you trade one unhappy player for another that will ruin chemistry?
Upon further thought, this does sound like a trade the Rockets GM would do. If his name were Isiah Thomas.
Look y'all, I understand that there's a lot of skepticism regarding Almu's credibility, but for me (and I have been on this site a very long time) there is nothing to suggest that Almu shouldn't be trusted. He has always been on the up-and-up and yes, he has broke news to this site in the past - whether or not some of you want to believe it. What makes this board so great (at least in the past) was posts from guys like Almu who hear rumblings and post the information here first. Unfortunately, the the chagrin of many of the old 'vets' of the board, there are far too many reactionary and quasi fans that have joined over the years, which has diluted the quality of board overall. Don't get me wrong, I'm still here everyday reading a lot of what is said, but when I see a post made by an old-timer, and an established source (in this case, Almu) I will take note. At this point, I say we just see how this all plays out. My opinion is that we don't get rid of McGrady (at least not now), but with as mediocre as this team has been this season, the intrigue of it all is exciting. -Turbo
