I actually read about his on hoopshype yesterday but it really just sounded like some writer speculating. Marbury's contract has two years left one it, and haven't the Knicks already traded every pick they have for the coming decade? This is not going to happen, any thoughts that the Rockets management is shopping Tracy is pure bullplop. He has been injured. That's it folks. He's not unhappy with the team, the team is not unhappy with him. We've managed to string a nice little win streak while he's been out, great, it shows that our offense is progressing. But, don't for one second think that we're a serious contender without him.

Cabbage, I just go by what I heard. I HEARD it from a phone call. I HEARD it from the guy that has been right before as per my conversations with Clutch. Pfft...I don't need to defend myself what I heard. Been here 10 years and not once did I post a false rumor. some ppl are excited about getting Tmac back.. but mostly bc they forgot already the way he playes with no heart and smirks at the worst possible times.. its like when you miss an ex girl friend and get back with her then you remeber why it was that yal had broken up..... Uh, that is a little more interesting, but I would still say no. And I never understand why people come into a thread to bash the starter of the thread. It hurts the chances of us getting something from someone else.....I guess most of the people here were not around during the overheard Cell phone call about us getting Steve Francis. That might make you less likely to bash. DD
I should type a lot more, but I just want to say even though I've had some good ribbing at Almu's expense before, people shouldn't rip him. That doesn't mean you just buy the story, but I think Almu is telling the honest truth from what he heard. He did tell me he heard the Rockets were interested in Pippen, and that was before JVG came out and said he was looking at it. I hate discouraging people from posting what they hear here. I guarantee there are readers who have real scoops/knowledge but won't post because they're afraid to get bashed. In this case, the rumor is just so lopsided that it's very hard to believe. Marbury is bad news, makes the same $$ as T-Mac and only has one year less on his contract. I could see maybe having the base to work with, assuming NY or someone else significantly sweetened the deal, if Marbury was an expiring contract. I remember the Nuggets took Juwan Howard (when he had a super-sized contract) off the Mavs' hands for a lot of talent when Juwan still had 1.5 years left, but they were full-on rebuilding. And can you imagine having Rafer, Brooks, James, Francis and Marbury? If this was happening, Marbury would only be the salary piece and there would have to be serious sweetening of the deal. The most sugar the Knicks have is David Lee and a first rounder, and that's still a little bland to me. I could be wrong, but I think the Rockets will let T-Mac come back and prove himself in Adelman's system. If he can't make it work, then I could see a deal in the offseason. I don't think he will be moved before the trading deadline.

I'm not ripping him for telling us what he heard or what he thinks he heard, I think everyone here appreciates people telling what they heard, even if it is a rumor (as long as it is not from another message board or so). I also think that he indeed heard something. It's the misleading thread title ("T-Mac being shopped") which is not at all supported by anything that is posted later - boiling it down to the actual info later, it comes down to "New York would like to do Marbury for T-Mac [and some tweaking] ("I have EXCELLENT confirmation that the NY Knicks are interested in obtaining T-Mac for Marbury and maybe a pick coming back to Houston."). This does not equate at all to "T-Mac being shopped". That's like me saying "I want to buy the Rockets for $ 10 million" and then someone starting a thread "Les Alexander looking for buyer for the Rockets". That, plus the sensationalist "I have EXCELLENT confirmation", when it really is just a rumor, plus the history of "tweaking info" as presented in the "pissing a job away" thread, plus the fact that this trade does not make any sense at all from the Rockets perspective - while I understand that the last thing we should do is to rip actual insiders - I think if a guy puts it out like this, it's not surprising that there will be some backlash.
