If he transferred after not getting any PT next year, then he'd have to sit out another year. He's making the right decision. There's no certainty that he'd even start again, much less get any meaningful playing time behind Gore. Then you've still got the chance that he reinjures his knee. There's too much that could go wrong to take the risk.

Good move by Willis. He sits for a year, makes the league minimum ($225K I think) plus whatever minimal signing bonus he receives as a mid-to-late round pick. Obviously he & his doctors feel that he should be able to return from the injury, which, despite how horrific it looked, was actually not that severe. The insurance $$$ is a bit of a red herring, especially after learning that he didn't tear the PCL. There's no reason he can't return at near 100% after 12+ months of aggressive rehab. If he's around at the beginning of round 5 (maybe 4 but probably not) I'd love the Texans to take him.
I believe the Texans have 3 #3 picks this year. If we don't trade 'em away (or squander them), I wouldn't mind stashing McGahee on the bench for a year...
Thank you everybody for correcting me, but if you had read the disclaimer in my sig, you would have expected such mistakes from me!
