lol. I wasn't trying to throw out credentials. Just reflecting on the fact that I've become more socialist since my business education.

But, I got it from Rice's Jones School, if you're curious.

As opposed to rousing success of the mouth breathers who work at McDonalds operating the touchscreen ordering systems, right? ;)

What you're saying is correct in theory - I just thought you'd be confident enough in your views not not throw out the MBA comment. I also think it will take a generation for these borderline illegal immigrants to become savvy enough to invest effort into acquiring a skillset, then putting it to use. Until then, is welfare enough?

If we knew it was only grease. They should supply plastic gloves.

I'm not sure how this will go over at McDs, but I bet it would work great at Subway and Quiznos.

I used one at Jack in the Box in seattle. I thought it was the coolest thing...till I used it. I suppose its not so bad if you punch on that thing a hundred times a day, but its a bit cumbersome if you're not used to it.

Do you use the door those same people use with their greasy, bacteria-ridden hands to go into McDonald's now or do you kind of teleport in?

Ha ha ha... silly Amurkin... you think those manufacturing jobs will be here in the States? Those point-of-sales will be made overseas like the current ones are! Muhahaha!

The jobs being killed by innovation comments are spot on. Yeah it's great to create one tech job eliminating the 5 unskilled. Problem is the population keeps growing and there is not enough of those tech jobs for everyone.

This is inevitable though and I thought some sit down restaraunts were already doing this. You sit at the table punch in your order which goes immediately back to the kitchen with your special instructions. When it's ready someone brings it out to you. If you want a refill just punch a button. Read about this concept years ago.

There's a company in Dallas that creates point-of-sale terminals that do this or they intend to do this. Here is their facebook site : http://www.facebook.com/tabletopmedia

They've generally gotten positive feedback on their "ziosks".

"Do this research if we get replaced -- watch how much evil, which we call crime, watch how much crime picks up, if you take away our jobs."

"There's too many people that live through us, people live through us. Yeah, walk in the streets, the way I walk the streets, and I'm not talking about the people you see all the time."

Not too worried about McDonalds cutting jobs. This just means they'll need more cooks and possibly extra personnel to hand out orders. Self checkout is pretty common in grocery stores, yet there are plenty of checkers and baggers left.

There's a lotta teens manning those cashiers, so I'm not sure how much impact it'll have on welfare.

Wish they'd double down on schooling to replace that time

Agreed! More practical application less teaching to pass tests.

I do NOT like the replacement of humans. We make our money through WORK. We tell people EARN a living. Then when we want OUR convenience and low cost, we call the people "knuckledraggers" :) so we can shame them.

In and Out burger generally hires white wholesome Americans and pays them decently for being a fast food place. What about those people?

STILL, we already order items online through our PCs. Amazon.com is a worldwide automatic checkout really. So thats where things are going. The NEXT step after that is getting the Japanese to build robots to replace the COOKS.

Now if they could just get machines to start flipping burgers then the consumers will receive less j*zz and spit on their Big Macs.
