If you watched Super Size Me then you will know that the health problems he developed were mostly related to the non-diet soda and the fries.

Eating all this McD's may sound obscene, but you have ask yourself wether you are better off 60 pounds lighter, having eaten some high salt food than you would be if didn't lose the weight. I say the net benefit is in her favour.

Is this a joke, or did you not read the original article??? That is exactly what this woman is doing.

Speaking of Super Size Me, I think the effects on Spurlock were different than they may be on others because his diet was much different than that before going in, living with a vegan girlfriend and all. The guy blew chunks from eating a double QPC meal, for God's sake. I used to have those all the time. It certainly wasn't good for me, but it didn't make me vomit as soon as I forced down the last couple of fries.

In other news.....going on the official "Texas Fudge" diet will make you lose weight as well if you eat nothing but fudge and chocolate meringue pie :p

Geez, my literacy intellect has now been attacked. I was merely commenting on the stupidity of the filmmaker.

What the woman says is misleading to me. She says nothing is off limits -- except the fries. So in that case apparently fries are harmful. (File that in the no **** category). The filmmaker idiot decided to go ahead and have those fries at almost every meal.

Does it make much of a difference? Well she apparently never exercises which seems like it would be quite accurate to say that any type of diet is bull****, for the most part.

If a woman can eat food that is high in fat and cholesterol and lose weight without regular exercise, then the ability to reduce the number of pounds has much more to do with biological constructs than any outside forces. Again in the no **** cateogry because metabolism is genetic.

Same thing with a healthy man who has never before smoked and dies at 50 versus an overweight guy who never exercises and has smoked since age 12 and lives to 90.

It's almost all genes people; you're either lucky or you're ****ed.

It's not almost all genes. Good thing you wrote in that disclaimer.

    I totally agree.

He drove around in his car making the documentary and stayed at hotels overnight. He never mentions how little exercise he got from driving around, yet almost every exposition with him is in his car, in a hotel, or at a McDonalds.

It's been a while since I saw that movie, but there were points where he deliberately made his health worse that McDonalds had no influence over.

The people who watched already had a forgone conclusion that was reinforced by his shifty Moore-esque documentary. He and his type are ruining the original spirit of a documentary. A person with an opposite disposition would call it propaganda.

If I remember correctly, one of the rules of this experiment was that Spurlock had a step counter and would only walk as much as the average American would walk during the day.

The average American should get an hours worth of excercise on top of that walking.

The guy was in great physical condition, who probably took in more than average calories from whatever excercise he did to maintain his shape. He underwent more changes in his body other than the McDonald's diet. His road trip was all for show, and it helped his results.

It wasn't what the average American should get, but what studies have proven the average American does get.

Of course changing his lifestyle completely in negative ways, outside of diet, will also have an impact. He never argued otherwise. I don't even remember him every arguing that what would happen to him would happen to everyone else.

It was, quite simply, an expirement on himself, with given guidelines and rules, that turned out the way it did.

The woman in question here took it for a crock of poo, decided to do it herself, and has consequently lost a lot of wieght. She's now rolling around at a pretty svelt size 22. Way to go lady. Instead of being ridiculously fat, you are just super super fat, and have worse cholestorol. Whoopty-doo!

Well you might have a point. I think EVERYONE will agree that McGriddles are the equivalent the manna. And I've only had two McGriddles in my lifetime (more because I don't consider 10:30 the end of breakfast -- that's practically still the middle of the night for me). At least breakfast is now served 'til 11 on weekends.

I hear they put crack in them McGriddles.*
