So now we whataboutism hypotheticals. Amazin

Hypothetically the Democrats would elect a man child out of spite to hold the position of manager of the world's largest bureaucracy and commander of the world's most powerful military to own the wingnuts because they called them terrorist sympathizers.

Gee... seems Merrick Garland was a fair, well-qualified nominee. Your "leave no vacancy behind" must only mean one thing to republican nominations and another to Democrat nominations...

Complaining about Mitch's corruption won't fix the problem. Getting a Democrat majority in the Senate is still more important to me than the presidency so I hope focus isn't lost on that.

If democrats want to do anything other than whine, this admission of purely power-focused politics should lead to a new round of investing in his democratic challenger. Here she is. I like her and will be re-upping today.

McGrath... a military hero, moderate (pro second amendment), strong on foreign affairs, and perhaps most important, not corrupt, running against an unpopular, corrupt bloated dinosaur. Tough choice, hope the people of Kentucky can make the right choice.

You may be right. But it'll be easier from the Democrats to win the presidency than a majority of the Senate.

I am sure RBG can hang around for another year so I doubt we ever get to that point. Now hanging on another 5 years may be a tough at her age but I would not bet against her. She is one tough woman.

what does she stand for? other than being the anti-Mitch

    from her web page:

    AMY MCGRATH FOR SENATE
Amy McGrath, a retired US Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel raised in Kentucky, is running for the US Senate to fix Washington and give Kentuckians back their voice.

Amy was born the youngest of three children to Donald and Marianne McGrath. Her father was a high school English teacher and her mother was one of the first women to graduate from the University of Kentucky medical school.

When Amy was 13 years old, she dreamed of becoming a fighter pilot, but women were not yet allowed to serve in combat roles in our military. So she wrote to her elected officials to ask them to change the law. She never heard back from her senator, Mitch McConnell.

Amy graduated from the US Naval Academy and overcame the odds to become the first woman in the Marine Corps to fly a combat mission in an F/A-18 fighter jet. She served 20 years in the Marines where she flew 89 combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, targeting al-Qaida and the Taliban, before retiring and moving back home to Kentucky to raise her family.

Amy lives in Georgetown, Kentucky, with her husband Erik, a retired Navy pilot and registered Republican, and her three children, Teddy (7), George (5), and Eleanor (3).

Amy became a Marine combat pilot to fight and defend her country and now she is taking the fight to Washington to solve the problems Kentuckians face in their every-day lives. Amy was a registered independent for 12 years, so she always prioritizes practical solutions over partisan interests. She’s not running for Senate to get rich and join the Washington swamp. Amy is ready to take on career politicians like Mitch McConnell and bring accountability and leadership back to Kentucky.

Others have mentioned it in this thread, and in the articles I've read she has a mix of conservative and more democratic positions.

All that aside, being anti-Mitch would be plenty for me. He's the epitome of power-over-principle / screw-the-rules politics and he's been terrible for the national discourse, in terms of furthering polarization.

Not calling for killing the President, calling for him to be tried for treason - and if found guilty - punished accordingly.

Nice try junior - time to put O's DDingleberry on ignore.

Getting shot doesn't mean killing, you gun stealing Democrat.

"I'll shoot you in the face" is really code for "exercising my second amendment rights is my way for making America great again."
