Sorry for the double post but I forgot someone that doesn't suck all the way on the line.

I wouldn't agree with that statement. I'm not content with the state of the line, but it's unfair to say they don't protect the QB. Schaub got put on the turf 25 times last year (less than twice a game), only 4 teams allowed fewer sacks (5 teams allowing 40+ sacks), and Schaub led the league in total completions and passing yards.

The line couldn't run block to save their lives. But they were capable at pass protection.

This. But it's been a mantra for so long. It's hard to break old habits.

You do know the Texans were #1 in Passing YPG last season right? It was also the 6th highest passing YPG in NFL history.

The pass protection was actually pretty good last season, our run blocking was absolutely non-existent though.

Not really into football, but Chester Pitts was in my office yesterday. He said he had offers from Detroit and San Fran. Nothing else really......

Crap, why is McNair and Smith letting this guy just walk? Letting an original Texans player like him spend the rest of his career anywhere else seems like a horrible idea.

He's coming off major surgery and there is no guarantee he'll return to form at his age. And while he was solid and durable, he's not as good as some make him out to be. I love the guy but he was slightly above average at best.

I think there's still a chance we work something out with him, considering he still hasn't signed anywhere.
