Apparently she has been a darling of the extreme right, The Weekly Standard and Rush Limbaugh for months. None of the rest of us heard of her, but they have viewed her as a rising star.

Among other things she shows the near complete discrediting of the conservative philosophy, such that they have to try to push folks from the low minors like Jindal and Palin as their new standard bearers.

    Palin today, in PA:

"It's great to see another part of the country."

This is going to go over well... in addition, her entire foreign travels are Ireland and 2 US military bases.

what a serious lack of respect for human life.

you are using a dollar figures to justify your argument for the destruction of a living person. well done Pun. and as far as tremendous health risks, well, maybe we should just take all mentally r****ded children out to the woodshed also, God knows special needs children are immensly expensive. I guess it's cheaper to just kill them, brilliant.

Yeah, having that type of black or white stance is troubling but it's still leaps & bounds better than being pro-choice in first place. No offense to the pro-choice posters, I just think it's disgusting.

Be careful about that, at least she has been over to Iraq with the troops........Obama hadn't prior to his overseas campaign trip..........

I need to understand why we continue to compare one's Presidential candidate to one's VP candidate.......I must be missing something here.

Oh i get it, so he didn't until he did.

because the alleged experience gap has been theme 1 for the McCain campaign for the last 6 weeks - an argument that is now off the table.

What about the flip side to this argument? If Palin is Obama's "inexperience" equal then wouldn't that mean Biden is McCain's "experience" equivalent?

If the Republicans can no longer claim Obama's lack of experience as a valid concern shouldn't allowing Biden on the Obama ticket thus cancel out the "typical Washington politics" label the Democrats are trying to pin on McCain?

Not saying I necessarily feel that, just throwing that out there for discussion.

    Uh so?
Not really - the label being placed on McCain is not so much typical Washington but "more of the same" of the last 8 years (tax cuts for the rich, big energy, more wars). Obama is a running as a generational outsider (being young and black) rather than a outside-the-beltway populist outsider like Ross Perot or something.

yeah, I am so sure just disposing of the life created by such an horrific attack will immeadeatly dispurse any reminder of the initial tragedy.

how about carrying around a lifetime reminder of how a woman somehow decided destroying a human life was less troublesome than dealing with the fact that she had been raped.

I see you focused on one part of my statement but not the last and most critical part. That's OK, it was expected.

Who are you to tell them what they should and shouldn't do? What they should and shouldn't feel?

Misinformed. I remember Obama visiting Iraq as early as January 2006. Nice try though.

No, that's a genuinely elitist statement. Lawyers and generals notwithstanding, I'll go ahead and assume a large portion of Chief and Vice Executives had no more than a Bachelors, if that.

I agree. Just saying that people love their labels. Not everybody gets into heated, intellectual debates about politics like people do here. For some people a cheap label is enough to earn a vote. Sadly, that seems to be the case.

From that standpoint, if the experience issue is off the table I think the "typical Washington" or "GWB Part II" label should be taken off as well.

I woudl say that but the centerpiece of Candidate McCain's plans are more tax cuts for the rich, more drilllng for fossil fuels, and interminable deployment in Iraq - those three items would be top priority for Bush III.

It's a shame because John McCain 2000 would have OPPOSED a lot of this stuff - and in fact openly did.

I wish that guy were running for President.
