CNN.com headline: "McCain Taps Alaska Gov. Palin" http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/08/29/palin.republican.vp.candidate/index.html?iref=topnews Accompanied by this photo: (And CNN is my news source of choice.)
BULLSH!T. i can't name you one tried-and-true republican that i know that ever - even once - threw this lady's name out as a bonafide solid pick for vice president. if you can sit there with a straight face and convince yourself that this woman - practically a nobody from the least populated state in the country with ZERO experience on the national level (just forget about the international level) - is and has been the best candidate for the vice presidency.... i suggest you check yourself in to a facility for mental fatigue. give me a f***ing break.
Wyoming is the least populous state in the country. Just wanted to correct you before they started attacking you on that instead of the real issues you posted.
Rush Limbaugh, New Gingrich, and Fred Barnes are three who have been pushing her for awhile now. She was definitely mentioned as a possibility, but she was always mentioned as the unlikely darkhorse. Edit: Not meant as a defense of her. I think her experience is a real problem.
trust me on this, once this newness wears off and people know about her policies, women will be outraged by this pick in general. she is anti-abortion and women's choice even if it was a result of incest or rape. she is pro-life to the fullest. and that is against what women have fought for for decades. basically, roe v. wade is done if these 2 are in office. so trust me, most women are still pro-choice. that alone will turn off most women. the newness really works for mccain b/c he took all the attention yesterday. and i thought that is a great move, FOR NOW. at the end of the day, gender or race will be a minor issue b/c the majority will either vote for their party or not. the independents will vote on policies. if you're ultra-conversative and like the direction the country is going, vote for mccain and palin. if not, vote for obama and biden. the country needs to put some democrats in the supreme court justice. it's shameful what the bush administration has done with the court.
Just watching Palin speak for several minutes, I have come to the conclusion that she is a total MILF.
are you talking about Palin or Obama? because it sounds like you just described both candidates political careers.
I'm not going to trust you at all, because you are full of garbage. women are not going to be outraged, because she is pro-life. Thats why McCain picked her, and thats why I will vote for McCain/Palin. but to be more specific, I will NEVER vote for any pro-choice candidate, my wife shares the same views. Rape or incest is no excuse to murder an innocent child. I seriously hope Palin takes a stab at abolishing legalized murder....cough cough, I mean abortion.
So you're calling me a liar(among other things)? I mentioned her name repeatedly in VP prediction threads on here over the last few weeks and months. Many Republicans and right-wing commentators and talk show hosts mentioned her as a possibility. Newt Gingrich, Fred Barnes, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill Kristol, Laura Ingraham, Glenn Beck, the list goes on and on. You may hate or disagree with everyone I just mentioned which is fine, but every single one of them suggested Palin for VP on at least one occasion way before McCain ever selected her. And as for your argument for why she's not qualified to be VP? I suggest you use those same criteria on the Democrat nominee for President. You'll find he doesn't measure up either.
Hmmm, considering Obama has some level of national and international experience and is running for President, I do not see how this judgment can be made from his statements.
It's not a stupid question, it's perfectly legit. I saw that pathetic tag as well. Someone earlier in the thread dogged FOX for putting Palin as an alert, or whatever it was. No comparison that MSNBC's breaking news tag was beyond pathetic. This board is more left-leaning, what do you expect?
Actually, Rasmussen (granted I don't think he is a registered republican) himself thought she would be the pick and would be the best pick from the beginning............but carry on....... ........so I will apologize for use of expletives for you.......
So who is going to pick up the tab on the medical bills for these unwanted children that, in these situations are forced upon these women? What about the tremendous risk of health related issues for children conceived through incestuous relationships. Why should women be forced have a child they didn't ask for and put themselves at risk?
Funny how a murderer can kill a pregnant woman, and be charged for double homicide, but an abortion is simply woman's choice.
This is the only circumstance when an abortion is appropriate. Especially with rape cases. A rape attack is horrific enough let alone having to carry around a nine month reminder of it.
