And the state of Alaska has total darkness for 2 months in the winter and 80 days of sunlight during the summer. You try working 2 months of total darkness.
lol. lol lol You are truly deluded. The GOP the party of peace!!! Now you really should join the Libertarians.
From the CNN Cafferty files (this was funny): "We all love a success story and I think it is great that a soccer mom can be nominated to be the next VP but get real!!!! I think John McCain’s lack judgement in this situation is scary! This woman has a degree in journalism, not business. She “manages” a state with less population than Dayton, OH! As a life long republican and nurse I am already concerned about John McCain’s continued cowboy diplomacy, advanced age, history of cancer and begining stages of dementia and now he does this! At least Obama has been in washington for awhile, has practiced constitutional law and has experience on the National stage. I have more education and corporate experience than this woman! I truly feel that if McCain’s ticket wins we should be very afraid. If something happens to him we will end up with a soccer mom for president. I have just made a big contribution to Obama and will vote Democrat come November for the first time in my life!" And another: "As an Alaskan, I have to agree with your posted comments. Running the state of Alaska for less than two years does not qualify Sarah Palin for the position which John McCain has selected her. Other than her short governorship, she served on an energy commission here in Alaska and was mayor of Wasilla, a town with a population of about 8500 people. Up here we joke about her, saying, “You can take the girl out of the valley, but you can’t take the valley out of the girl”. Wasilla is situated in the Matanuska Valley and the whole valley is deemed by Alaskans as the most red-neck part of our state and quite the butt of many, many jokes. Also, investigative reporters might be interested in the recent scandal involving Palin over her firing of the state safety commissioner. It’s been in the Anchorage Daily News for the past few weeks. Apparently, it was over the commissioner’s inability to fire Sarah’s ex-brother-in-law from the Alaska State Troopers. She may not be part of the good-ole-boy network but she doesn’t hesitate to use the power of her office for personal reasons. When all of the excitement wears down a little and people actually get to know some of these things about Gov. Palin, I believe you’ll find that she will become a liability, not an asset, for the McCain campaign." this is gonna be funny in the end. I know it. I just know it.
This pick is just hilarious. McCain has been nothing but reactionary since this campaign started, and that trend has now continued so much so that Obama completely dictated McCain's VP pick. He is doing anything he can to stay relevant. Another desperate cry for attention that is falling on the deaf ears of a couple hundred people bored to tears at a rally they were bussed to and paid for their few hours of suffering. McCain is doing nothing but playing catch up here, and it ain't gonna work.
Okay seriously, can someone tell me WHY McCain chose Palin? What made him choose her? Was it her being f***able (), or the fact that he hopes some crazy Clinton supporters go to his camp?
If you actually read what he wrote he said the GOP needs to regain that banner. Not that I expect you to actually read what he wrote.
His staff interviewed her - it's unlikely they have ever met before; possibly in passing at a repub event.
he said regaining it from the influence of the neocons will be tough but it should be a goal. r e a d i n g c o m p r e h e n s i o n.
life tends to sort out the morons. not saying she will be great or that i have any clue how this will turn out but i think it is very intriguing since it has excited mccain's weak base among conservatives. time will tell how she holds up...
no different than Mondale picking Ferraro. It's a sign of grasping for straws to get some media play when you really have no shot in hell at winning.
They have met before http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/08/29/1307122.aspx From NBC's Mark Murray and NBC/NJ's Adam Aigner-Treworgy The McCain camp has just released a tick-tock of how the Palin pick came to be. And according to it, McCain had met her just one time prior to yesterday. The tick-tock from McCain communications director Jill Hazelbaker: "John McCain first met Governor Sarah Palin at the National Governors Association meeting in Washington in February of 2008 and came away extraordinarily impressed. John McCain followed her career and admired her tenacity and her many accomplishments. She was scheduled for a high profile speaking role at our convention and included in the VP selection process because of his admiration for her strong reform credentials. Last Sunday, Governor Palin and John McCain had a conversation over the phone. Governor Palin was at the Alaska State Fair, and John McCain was at his home at Phoenix. Previously, Rick Davis, John McCain’s campaign manager, had also been in regular contact with the Governor as part of the on-going selection process. This past week, Governor Palin arrived with Kris Perry in Flagstaff, Arizona, on Wednesday evening. Upon arrival, Governor Palin and her longtime aide Kris Perry met with Steve Schmidt and Mark Salter of the McCain campaign at Mr. Bob Delgado’s home in Flagstaff. Mr. Delgado is the CEO of the Hensley corporation, which is Mrs. Cindy McCain’s family business. On Thursday morning, Governor Palin and staff were joined by Mrs. Cindy McCain and later joined by John McCain at the McCain family home in Sedona, Arizona. At approximately 11:00 a.m. Thursday August 28, 2008, John McCain formally invited Governor Sarah Palin to join the Republican ticket as the vice presidential nominee on the deck of the McCain family home." "Later that morning, John McCain departed for Phoenix and Governor Palin departed with staff to Flagstaff, Arizona. Governor Palin, Kris Perry, Steve Schmidt and Mark Salter proceeded to the Manchester Inn and Conference Center in Middleton, Ohio. They were checked into the hotel as the Upton Family. While there, Governor Palin’s children, who had been told they were going to Ohio to celebrate their parents’ wedding anniversary, were told for the first time that their mother would be a nominee for Vice President of the United States of America." "Today, John McCain was proud to announce that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, a proven-reformer, will share a partnership with him to shake things up in Washington and to make government more effective for American families."
Well, this didn't take long: http://www.vpilf.com/ I'm listening to Michael Savage right now. He's BLASTING the pick. Said McCain is throwing the election away. Said he should have picked Romney and says she's not qualified.
Maybe when you're fresh out of college. After that the education goes to the bottom of your resume and most employers don't even look at it.
What a HUGE mistake, he should have played it safe, he would have still won. Who would want to see her as prez of the U.S if anything were to happen to McCain? It's actually scary to think about.... I guess we'll see what she's all about in the next few weeks, though she's going to get spoon fed almost everything she says.
