Which is ridiculous: that the other candidates surely have mis-remarks like that on or off the record as well or that the Dems recorded the remarks with stealth... essentially taping Republican pillow-talk.

Which is exactly what happened in SF with Obama and the whole guns/religion/bitter flap.

I missed your outcry against that taping.

$640K now raised for Bachman's opponent since her remarks on Hardball.

So if nobody died in Ayers' attacks, then once again, McCain is up to his lying dog tricks when he tells people in these phone calls (which is borderline harassment, in my opinion...even though it happens a lot) that people died.

    Acorn
    Baby Killer

    etc

the problem with all the above? if yah really have a legitimate issue it'll probably be dismissed as just more of the same. the situation is desperate though, so please carry on ...

Maybe McCain could take the real Americans and ship them to Alaska and start a riot with Todd Palin so Alaska can secede. Then they can change Alaska to Real America and live happily ever after.

Wasn't that remark made from a stage?

My understanding is that it was made to a small group of people during a conversation. I don't remember too much, so I might be mistaken.

I do remember it was a closed door event where someone recorded him.

Either way the point remains the same. The GOP attacks on him were that he would say one thing to SF elites, but another when out campaigning.

    Per USA Today:

So, you consider the furor over these comments ridiculous as well since they were essentially Democratic pillow-talk, right?

    beautiful....

"I think you may have noticed that Senator Obama's supporters have been saying some pretty nasty things about western Pennsylvania lately," McCain said, as folks booed.

"You know," "I couldn't agree with them more."

    (Sound of crickets chirping.)

"I couldn't disagree with you, I couldn't agree with you more than the fact that western Pennsylvania is the most patriotic, most God loving, most patriotic part of America," McCain choking. "And this is a great part of the country. My friends I couldn't agr-- I could not disagree with those critics more, this is a great part of America."

"When he's campaigning in Philadelphia, he roots for the Phillies," McCain said, referring to remarks Obama made during his Oct. 11 visit here, "and when he's campaigning in Tampa Bay, he shows love to the Rays.

The guy is losing it quickly.

In another development, Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin told CNN that she had regrets about comments she made last week in a speech in Greensboro, N.C. There, she called North Carolina a "pro-America" part of the country, thereby implying that other regions were not patriotic.

"I don't want that misunderstood," said Palin, who is scheduled to be in Western Pennsylvania tomorrow. ". . . I certainly don't want that interpreted as one area being more patriotic or more American than another. If that's the way it's come across, I apologize."

So which is it? Pennsylvania is the most patriotric part of America or no one area is more patriotic than another? They're all over the place. :D

Apologies or not, this really is frustrating. I know its all words for a fan base, but it is stupid. I'm from Houston, so I'm not a true American? Plus being Hispanic I sometimes get the feeling from this rhetoric that I am even less American.

I wish I realized that before because then I wouldn't have to stand my watches that the Navy tells me I need to. Maybe I can tell the higher ups that I don't need to fight because I'm not a real American.

****e I tell ya. This isn't the only incident where this type of stuff is said. I fully realize that the Left aren't without fault, but man do the hardcore right wingers play their role in dividing the nation.

It's not Palin's fault for making the statements, it's the fault of the people who recorded her!

The victim mentality on this forum is astounding

I can't wait until Obama wins and the next four years become a replay of the last 8 but with the Dem and Republican posters switching sides regarding respect for the office of the presidency.

It will be fun to watch.

Obama's response to this week's divisive "you're not real americans!" tack taken by McPalin and their allies. (can FFWD to 0:50 mark for the gist)

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_9OhVMHIuO4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_9OhVMHIuO4&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Not much more needs to be said. .

is there any wonder why they're so far ahead of what people claimed was going to be close?
