I confess there is some truth in your observations. Aside from an eerie resemblance to my girlfriend, I liked Palin from the moment she was introduced as McCain's running mate. Palin just struck the right chord. She appears to be a genuine "average" American who can lead us back to sanity -- someone grounded in running a normal family while running a multi-billion dollar government. She has actually affected change where Obama can only talk about it. McCain and Biden are business-as-usual D.C. types, McCain less than Biden, although I like Biden better.

I love it how the media is sheilding Palin while it continuously bombarded Obama about Wright. I mean, 80% of the media coverage Obama gets is negative.

Everytime someone criticizes Palin about legitimate issues, everyone screams sexism.

When Obama said he didn't look like past presidents, the Republicans accused him of playing the race card.

Now the Republcians attack the media to win support.

You have to hand it to Rove and his tactics - as cynical as it might be, it's absolutely brilliant in an Orwellian sort of way.

Average guys aren't multi-millionaires with a degree from Yale (or Harvard).

Rove is not a McCain-Palin staff member.

Here is another sexist innuendo. Do you criticize other candidates (like Biden) for not writing their own speeches? Even Obama, as good as he is as a public speaker, doesn't write his own speeches. You're upset because she is the better speaker.

I think he's simply refering to an interview vs. a scripted speech. If you give an interview, the words are your own.

And I appreciate for not taking my post as an attack. My guess would be all people are probably quite a bit more viceral in the way they look at candidates than they would care to admit (perhaps even to themselves). I'm sorry that people are blowing up at you over your honest response.

oh my god, how is that sexist? are you kidding me? READ MY COMMENT.

i'm saying that's ALL SHE HAS DONE. until she can go out and go in one-on-one interviews, you cannot make the claims that you have about her. we don't know if she really is who she has claimed in those speeches, which she doesn't write (including the speeches of obama and all politicians). that's why EVERYBODY is waiting for her to talk by herself.

if all obama does is give speeches and not go out on talk shows and interviews, everybody would grill him right now too. but he has gone on o'reilly now. he has sat down numerous times to talk about the controversies surrounding him.

but again, if you take what i wrote is sexist, it's obvious you have zero confidence in your candidate.

imagine if everyone on this board claims the coverage v. obama is racist. what has the world come to? we've gone past these issues (or at least i hope) and people still bring up these garbage.

he's still a republican. fox news reported rove called mccain and lieberman personally telling lieberman to drop out and mccain not to pick him. and a lof of the mccain workers are influenced by rove and his tactics.

Monday night on the Greta Van Sustren show (Fox News), let's see how she does in her first interview. Right now we can only examine speeches.

Well, wait. Several months ago on a business program, she discussed Alaskan oil exploration and, IIRC, she did quite well in answering questions.

the greta show is just going to examine her life-long story--> she won't interview her about what's going on right nwo and her controversies (or at least that's what i get from the commercials).

again, mccain camp manager said himself don't expect any interviews anytime soon. he even went to say we won't put her out there if we don't have to. obviously they don't have the confidence in her right now to`talk to the press without the talking points.

Nobody gives a flip about how she did a few months ago as an obscure governor of Alaska talking out oil exploration. As a VP nominee, the magnifying glass will burn a lot hotter and the questions will (should) be a LOT tougher. We will see.

i simply want palin to talk about the controversies surrounding her first of all. secondly, i want her to talk about how she would reform washington and what her and mccain woudl do different that bush that allow them to claim the "change" theme.

that's all i wanna know. i wanna know if she's who she has claimed to be (which from the lies she has told--bridge to nowhere, earmarks, the jet--aren't proving to be so). but again, i still want to see her view points.

If that is sexist innuendo, those here in this forum who have suggested that Obama can't speak without the teleprompter on are spreading racist innuendo.

the republicans actually still make that assessment publicly at their convention. fortunately, the democrats didn't use the race card. or else the work that our forefathers have done would go down the drain. sexism? my god.

Besides that stuff, I want her record probed with a fine-toothed comb and exposed for everyone to see clearly, instead of the sound bites and speechifying we've been fed so far. I want her asked specific questions on divisive issues where she has to give a clear answer. She is so un-vetted on the major issues of the day it isn't funny. As has happened with Obama, I want her warts to show because they are there.

The honeymoon for Palin must end. If she's still stands high after intense scrutiny, good for her. If McCain's campaign shields her from hard questions, shame on them.

I want the same for each of the four candidates. Unfortunately, the scrutiny won't be equal. Look at the free pass Obama has gotten from the press in comparison to the way they have gone after Palin.
