    Sure...

A nightly entertainment show hosted by a comic is more important than studying up on the meeting he'll be in over the next couple of days...

    Please, people.

The way Dave cut into the interview with Couric was low.

Here it is BTW- (use the small play button on the lower left)

If he was studying or heading to Washington that would have been different. He wasn't. He just taped a different interview and this morning is going to the Clinton global initiative. If he's able to do all of that why not live up to his commitment of the interview with Dave and the debate?

I keep hearing my daughter's "farm animal" toys whenever you post. Particularly the "ba ba baaaaaaa" from the blue sheep.

It used to be that politicians HAD to give interviews because there were so few news stations that they could not refuse because they would be left out of the coverage.

But today, there are so many competing news services that they can pick and choose...

    Different day...

Uh you do know Obama was interviewed by that bastion of fair and balanced reporting, Bill O'Reilly a couple of weeks ago yes?

No, he's not. In a way it could have been worse. Dave has more liberty to make someone the butt of his jokes. It's was a no win situation. Every interview and appearance for both candidates is crucial now.

It was "low?" Huh? What? Dave was LIED to about what was going on, that McCain was getting on a plane right now to go back to Washington on an emergency basis, and he doesn't have the right to call out the lie?

Okay, pally. Apparently you live in a different world where liars should never be called out, doing an interview with Couric constitutes "working on the economy," and one guy "putting a campaign on hold" for maybe a week is going to fix the economy. Even though "putting the campaign on hold" is obviously a political maneuver anyway, a fact made even clearer by this very situation.

Amazing to think that just a month ago I was on the fence about Obama/McCain. Now, between McCain's position on healthcare, Palin's completely inept interview, and this ridiculous, indefensible gaffe about "putting his campaign on hold," it's not such a hard choice anymore.

That's the first thing I thought of too. He usually doesn't come across as so...personal. He ranted for a good ten minutes.

WHAT? You're telling me that he stayed in New York overnight? I thought the Couric appearance was bad faith, but in this emergency, he didn't fly to Washington last night? That can't be right. Surely, he needed to be in DC first thing this a.m. to get "to work," right?

Yeah, I watched the first part of Letterman, and it was surreal. It was like he didn't mind getting stiffed so much, but the "suspend the campaign" was what he couldn't figure out. Almost like he had donated money (he referenced what donors must think several times.)

Same boat. I really can't believe that I was thinking about voting for McCain as late as 6-7 weeks ago.

hannity is of a handful of complete partisan hacks that don't deserve a second of obama's or anyone else's time. dont sit here and compare letterman to a scumbag like hannity, because they aren't one in the same.

no ****... i was admittedly leaning towards obama after the primaries, but biden and especially palin sealed my vote.

but the "campaign" mccain is running now is turning into a joke. how people continue to vote republican is beyond me at this point.

LEtterman is getting annoying. I love his comedy but he threw in the towel a long time ago.

The way he panders to hot girls is boring after a while. I also heard he won't even talk to anyone on the show unless its being filmed.
