The Rockets win and lose as a team. So, all the players are to blame for the losses (Franchise, Cat, Yao, etc.). I agree Yao does need to be aggressive, but whenever I watch games the guards don't pass to him nearly enough. How many times have we seen Yao get excellent position and not get the ball passed to him? We can say he needs to demand the ball, but rookies just don't demand the ball on a team with established players and one superstar.
just to add what munco already said. it doesn't matter if yao is in good position or not, just give him the ball because he'll make the right decision. plus, he is a better passer than most of the guys.
Absolutely. Yao is passive like a little girl. He will never be as aggressive as the top players. The one good game against Duncan was one game. You have to look at season averages. Yao's season average is no where near Duncan's.
This is a very derogatory picture, DavidS. I expect more from you. Where did you find this garbage? theSAGE
Well Shaq doesn't get the ball every single time. Yao is kind of at fault. He is not strong enough or aggressive yet. But he is developing greatly. HE WILL DOMINATE IN A COUPLE OF YEARS. Just wait and see.
All in all i think rox does need a coach who is smarter or as smart as Yao to be any good. Yao is way ahead of everybody(rudy included).
i agree all of u. thats a team game. all of them, i mean those players, should take the bad show together, whatever which one is worse in the game or should pay more for his faults. i love yao. i love everyone in this team, iunclude rudy t. but i hope they know what they did, i hope they know that is a teamwork, not a personal show. i hope yao chould be more aggressive, I hope others could pass more balls to him. i hope rudy t. can be smarter. i just want them win for themselves and for us.
Tsk, tsk, aren't we the sensitive type. I found the picture funny. I must be among the 70% with good sense of humor.
I don't know about Yao but it is public knowledge here in LA that when Shaq doesn't get the ball, he doesn't play defense. So if Yao doesn't look motivated during the game, could it be that he feels left out? I see the war between Shaq and Kobe replayed in Houston.
Yao Ming is running away from the active play side so that Franchise can have an open path for his ISO. This leaves him with extra work to go through to get back a good position on the active side. If we come to our sences and go to our BIG MANS GAME, then the ball will be distributed alla Hakeem with the inside outside game. Only then will Yao Ming come into his own! Also after a healthy improvement course with MOSES MALONE, Yao Ming will be just great at getting position for scoring and rebounds. It is very important that this happens, so please press the Rockets to get Moses and Yao together!
I am not defending Yao. But he really isn't strong enough to get into position every single time. You have to understand that and that strength isn't something you can get overnight. What did our coach and other players do to help him out? Nothing. Just got away from him. No picks or ball movement or something. Please don't say that I am a Yao-only fan (because I am not) so I am blaming our coach or our other players for Yao doing something wrong. This is a TEAM game. They should recognize that Yao has this weakness. While Yao himself needs to correct this weakness of his (with strength training), his coach and teammates need to help him out during the games as well, not do nothing as it's now.
- I just say Rudy say that what ails the team is mostly "mental"! I agree with him, but I also believe that if the problem is mental, then having Rudy be the solution is like hiring a plumber to repair the space shuttle!
I dont know if you even watched the game last night. Yao battled like hell for position against a very strong player in brian grant who constantly switched his strategy (pushing real hard, then fronting, etc.) A lot of times Yao had him sealed off and our stupid guards couldnt throw a simple lob pass. Yao battled constantly last night, and was swarmed each time he even received the ball. Its up to our other players (Cat, Hawkins, Posey, Griff) to hit a freakin wide open jump shot to get the whole damn defense off Yao.
