Maybe so-called "players coach" Rick Adelman is the problem

Rick Adelman is part of the problem but not because he's a players coach.

    Let's rebuild...without him

I was not excited about Adelman coming here; never been a fan. I loved Rudy; haven't liked the coaches here since (JVG). I don't think Adelman deserves all the blame for the Rocket's record this season; there are many factors. But I have lost confidence in his ability to best utilize the players that he has. If the Rocket's organization ever get over Yao and the player mix settles down, I think a new, younger coach is in order. It feels like we are stuck in some out-dated coaching paradigm. When it is not working, try something else.

The same JVG who caused us to trade for crappy vet after crappy vet just so he could play defense? THAT JVG?

I don't agree that the Rockets should completely start the rebuilding process... but I do agree that if this team wants to go into rebuilding mode, it should be without Adelman.

OMFG! You can't be serious? Put the bong down and back quickly away......you just can't afford another hit!! That guy drove us into the stone age. He would have traded a lottery pick for a caveman to get one more win.

Adelman came here to coach a contender, he's unlikely to re-sign anyway, the team isn't what he came for, he's at the age where developing a team isn't something that would motivate him (tbh i'm surprised the rockets haven't let him walk already).

Right now, it's a hodge podge of bit pieces, a lot of the issue right now is Morey, but its obvious it's because this isn't anything near a lineup he wants, right now he has pieces for structuring a future lineup, not pieces to run a current lineup.

Okay let's just blame Rick Adelman for the collective faults of the players listed.

Exactly. So there's really no point in blaming a coach that really has no chance to remain anyway, unless a miracle happens and we get Melo + him signing an extension here.

That said, look at all previous Adelman teams after he left: Portland, GS, Sacramento. Sure, they were rebuilding. But it's not like any of their players suddenly played much better because the teams replaced him with "better" coaches.

Please explain when they named JVG Head Coach AND General Manager because I was under the quaint impression that it was Carroll Dawson who kept trading for crappy vet after crappy vet (not to mention screwing up draft after draft). As for your wanting to play defense crack well Uncle Les got rid of JVG because he along with the rest of the Rocketsheep (led by DaDakota) wanted to see more offense and cheers were heard from the Rocketsheep when RA, an offensive-minded coach, was hired. Now, those very same Rocketsheep want to get rid of that offensive-minded coach and go get one who is more "defense-minded". I swear: it's like watching the pendulum on a grandfather clock around here.

"Maybe to many so-called "arm chair coaches" are the problem.

The OP post makes no sense what's so ever. Maybe defense and not having a big man in the middle is the problem. Maybe too many players and a constant rotating rotation is the problem. Maybe Brooks injuries, Scola's plateau, or Martins lack of defense is the problem. Maybe the fact we've had 2 constantly injured stars, is the problem.

I think this was always going to be a rebuilding year and they really didn't believe Yao would make it back but were hoping for the best. Morey stocked up on assets looking for the big move and it hasn't happened yet. They are being very patient.

I think Adelman is better suited to coach veteran players who are already disiplined and don't need that from the coach. For the young players we have, we need a tougher coach. Like Scott Brooks for example.

you guys realize Adelman is one of the top coaches in the NBA, look what he did with a group of role players.. .500 ball

he should of won coach of the year for what he did last season

he knows how to play players to their strengths
