That specific claim is dumb, really dumb actually, but the idea behind it isn’t.

This year more than ever before our 2nd ball dominant guard is possessing the ball just as much as James. There was a pronounced gap the last few years. Clearly a decision has been made to rely on Harden less. Short term it hasn’t worked out that great for us. Long term it could be the smart play.

 

Then why keep harden around if we are not going to maximise him? If we are thinking long term then trade him for someone younger.This strategy is pointless

Where we may disagree is a different subject.

There has been an effort to take the ball out of James’ hands, yes. Clearly, in an effort to reduce wear on James for the long term as you accurately pointed out.

But I also see a lack of aggressiveness from James. You can tell me if any of the advanced numbers back it up or not, but it doesn’t seem like he’s attacking as much (ISO or otherwise) with his touches.

His line was OK last night, but most of it came when the game was already a laugher.

My point is, I am not so quick to put all the blame on the Silas system for such a drastic change. Silas may want Harden to change, but this much, I’m skeptical.

 

They are intentionally bringing his usage down. Less usage, less output. Better for the team? Maybe?

 

They are trying to trade him. No matter how many sound bites and tweets come out with Harden giving those canned PR responses, he still wants out and they are still trying to move him. But they aren’t gonna do it for peanuts, and they shouldn’t.

Silas isn't telling him to pass to Eric Gordon for a end of the quarter shot. He's not telling him to never drive and be as non aggressive as possible. Harden is pouting like he did with CP3 here

 

I guess harden having career low usage on the ball is harden to.

 

Harden should play iso more. He should get at least 30 each game. Wall is not Cp3. Power forward and small forward are weak side
