this has been mentioned a few times in different threads....let's do this....i'll chip in as well...somebody please start a thread regarding this issue....time is of the essence!
wat if we make an ad, and we have somebody photoshop a picture of rockets management and make them look stupid, like straight up r****ded, that would defenitely make em look bad, sounds like a plan to me
Anybody actually get a response yet??? Maybe we need to resend the original e-mails a few more times to make sure things got through!!!
I couldn't resist. 170. Jerry West Thanks again, I owe you dinner guys. If you ever get tired of that Yao Ming guy, I'll take him too.
I signed the petition, however there is already one with more signatures and I think we should all unite as one and make as large a petition as possible. Also, if anyone cares, here are the contents of my brief email.
This is what I e-mailed the Rockets. It's not very well written, but I'm too pissed off to do any better right now. To whom it may concern, I've been following the Rockets since they first arrived in Houston, being in my mid-'50s and a native Houstonian, so I've seen a lot of ups and downs, a lot of triumphs and far too many of tragedies. You could say that I've got some perspective regarding how I feel about the actions of the front office yesterday. It was incredibly stupid and one-sided, and not in the Rockets favor. I like Battier as a role player, and would have liked to acquire him for the Rockets, but there is no way that he was worth what we gave up. Battier has a longer, more expensive contract than Swift. Swift could have been packaged in another deal, possibly with a future pick from the Rockets, to acquire a veteran role player, which is what Battier is. Now we don't have that option. Rudy Gay may very well be a future superstar in the NBA, but if the front office wasn't willing to take a chance on Gay, there were several excellent players still available at the 8th spot that we could have selected. Or, we could have traded down and gotten a couple of lower picks. There were many options out there, yet you chose to get a veteran role player, a guy who averaged 10 and 5, while playing 35 minutes a game last season. You sacrificed one of the few chances we will have, in the near future, assuming we aren't a lottery team again next year, to add one or more good to great young players with which to build our Rockets. I can't believe we couldn't have done better. I also can't see myself spending my dollars for the expensive seats at the Toyota Center, as well as spending my money on Rockets merchandize, and driving down from Austin to do so, when the front office is doing such an awful job building my team. I really hope there is far more to this deal than we have heard of up until now, and that there are other deals that will address the holes in our lineup, as well as getting young talent to develop for the future, along with our two stars. After yesterday, I have no faith in the Rockets management to do what is needed for the future of the team. I am, quite literally, physically ill due to the idiocy being put on display by you, the Rockets management. If this is the best that the front office of the Houston Rockets can do for the fans, and for Mr. Alexander, then as far as I'm concerned, Mr. Alexander should fire all of you, and start over. And Mr. Alexander, if you can't get people more competent than this to run your team, our team, perhaps you should consider selling it to someone who can. Very sincerely, (Deckard)
I sent one too. It was short but basically reiterated the BBS feelings about this trade ...and i also pleaded for them to pick up Mike Gansey of W.Virginia...it's hard to believe he went undrafted!!!!!!
I got a reply from Justice. It said simply. He's probably got that saved as a draft so he can just plug in the email address.
who cares what justice thinks, he's an idiot, especially when it comes to basketball. when will people understand, ALL rookies/draftees have questions! hello, they haven't played a lick in the nba, no one really knows how they will end up. but you have to be willing to give a #8 overall pick a freakin' chance instead of trading him for a 10/5 role player.
