I just emailed the rockets Battier's career stats. They obviously hadn't seen them.

Yeah, I was listening to 610 from home and they first mentioned the deal before Foye was even picked.

I sent my email to the Rockets and I also called them.

The lady I spoke with said that nobody had called to complain about the trade, I was the first, she did say that somebody called to praise the move and that was it.

C'mon guys we got 2 weeks to get this thing reveresed, let your voice be heard!

    Done. My email.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

My fellow Rockets fans and I suffered through a terrible season last year. But we all waited anxiously for draft day hoping our pains would be erased. When Rudy Gay fell into the Rockets lap at pick #8, for a moment it sure felt there was a purpose for all that went wrong in the previous season. Yet the rockets management seemed to tease us yet again.

Why are the Rockets sacrificing their future to get a few wins under JVG? JVG is under pressure to win this season so heis willing to get a few more wins instead of building a true power house.

Why are the Rockets completely giving in to JVG's wishes? What has he accomplished in his carrrer to demand such respect?

Why do Rockets insist on getting more athletic yet they play Juwan Howard over Swift and trade the more athletic Rudy Gay for less athletic Shane Battier?

Why do Rockets insist on mediocricity? Shane is a decent player but he will improve them only slightly while Gay has the potential to improve the team significantly.

It comes down to this. The Rockets traded Rudy Gay away either because1 ) JVG/CD cannot evaluate and cannot develop young players. 2) JVG is trying to save his job. So,which is it?

The day this trade becomes official I will vow never to buy any Rockets game tickets/products and will encourage all that I know to do the same.

A bitter long time Rockets fan.

    here's what i sent:

Am I Dreaming? Is this a nightmare? Seriously...
I have been a die-hard Rockets fan since around 1980. The Rockets have been the core of my passion for all things sport for a majority of my life. I have experienced many great things with this organization: the 1981 Finals, Ralph and the '83 Draft, Akeem and the '84 Draft, the 1986 Sampson shot against the Lakers, Hakeem Olajuwon, 1994, 1995, Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady, etc. I've also experienced the Pain: 1981 Finals, 1986 Finals, 1993, John Stockton, Scottie Pippen, the pin-striped uniforms, Steve Francis, and now the 2006 Draft.
Does CD or Les or JVG actually think they're smarter than Jerry West? The Rockets have the most boring style of play in the entire Association. I no longer live in Houston and must purchase the NBA League Pass to follow my beloved team each year. Even though the Rockets have fallen short of the playoffs in almost every season that I've had the NBALP, I've watched almost every game. That is, until this season. I finally had to quit. I just couldn't take it anymore. To make matters worse, I've been witnessing the Spurs and Mavericks develop into two of the premier organizations in the Association. Each of those franchises has developed a wealth of talent and surrounded key players with a balance of youth/athleticism and experience. Where would the Mavericks be without Josh Howard? Where would the Spurs be withou Tony Parker?
Rudy Gay has the potential to bring a much-needed athletic spark to a franchise that seems to have forgotten that basketball can be fun. Yes, fun! Even when a team loses, the game itself can be entertaining. However, the Rockets have taken every bit of the entertainment factor completely out of the equation. Sending Rudy Gay to a division rival for an average (although solid) player seems to be proof of yet another season of boring 82-game basketball. Moreover, adding Stromile Swift to the deal proves that the Rockets did very little research into potential draft-day trades. Has the front office absorbed the mediocrity of the play on the court?
If there is any way the Rockets can rescind this trade, please make it happen. There are thousands of fans counting on you.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

    A Lost Fan,

I seriously like the idea of chipping in and taking out a full page ad in the chron expressing the displeasure before july 12. emails can be sent but doing something like that will put more of a national spotlight on cd/jvg and make them into a bigger joke and hopefully force them to not go through with the trade

Great Idea. If you are serious about this, I will contribute. Kind of like a tip jar to register your disgust across the city of houston, and hopefully, to prevent the organization from having a forced homosexual with Mr. West.
