I was annoyed because I gave myself an hour for the finale, and it was an hour and a half. Found myself thinking if they cut some of these artistic shots lingering on a statue or the waves, they could have done it in an hour. Had the same reaction as you. I get the broader theme where the wankers of the show get some form of redemption while the sympathetic characters fall into some form of perdition. Some story lines managed that pivot better than others. The one that bugged me is the guard who wants to be like the Buddha. Guys will do a lot of stuff to get the hot chick, but he goes from Buddha-like to murderer pretty damn quick, and then shows no remorse or ill-feeling at all. Even after embracing the dark side, he still doesn't flip on the Russians? It could have been improved upon with an intermediary scene where he makes some smaller concession toward embracing violence to make it a little more credible he goes the whole distance. Other storylines looked a bit pointless at the end. The incest angle culminated to nothing in the end, making it seem a bit gratuitous to do it at all. And some bits of incredibility soured parts as well. If my son almost died from a poisoning, for example, I'd be taking him to the hospital, not taking the boat back to the airport like nothing happened. Still, pretty good show despite my criticisms. I wouldn't bother to criticize if it was junk. I still think the first season was the best. And I think the creators should work on a new project instead of going back to the well.
Yeah this season could've been 6-7 episodes. A lot of fluff. This is the gilded age of television. Lot of glamour but we literally waited 8 hours for this whodunnit
I feel the same as everyone else does here. It was a decent season but stretched out way too many episodes! I would give it a 7.5/10 only because there were plot lines that never panned out which I will spoiler below. I'm not sure if there should be a 4th season even there are stories to finish. Spoiler The previously mentioned incest scene between brothers, the Russian scammers/robbers, the good guy going bad so easily/quickly, the mom and son taking off with the loot, etc. Am I evil for wishing the son should've stayed dead?
Remember the female staff member never explicitly said how toxic those seeds were......the amount. She never went into details so that they could have written anything about those characters......
I wouldn’t say it’s the best season but even an underwhelming season from Mike White is better than like 95% of what’s out in tv land now. I did dig the Thai rock music throughout the show so that’s a plus. Oh and Mike white went off on Howard stern talkin about how people complained about the season being slow and he talked **** to his musical composer calling him a b!tch lol Mike white is a gangsta!
Ah yeah the composer got back at Mike and left him deliberately after Season 3. Heard the same thing that the music guy didn't like Mike and vice versa.

ikr. have the monkies go crazy somehow and violently attack the white lotusers. taigok goes crazy and shoots up the monkies to save the people and somehwere in between hits a few collaterals (including lisa, boring belinda, teeth face, and incest bros). in the end, bro becomes a hero, but at what cost.
Spoiler I wanted to see Saxon and Chloe's reaction to Chelsea getting shot up. They all seemed pretty unbothered after.
I haven’t seen a single episode, but it’s so buzzy that I see those teeth everywhere. And now I’m obsessed with them. She’s the flavor of the month for me.
