Max is a Knicks fan, Patrick Ewing and the 1994 team losing to the Champion Rockets, Hakeem, He is still bitter. It has nothing to do with the Jordan comment he made which is nonsense since we won in 1995, with Jordan still playing in 1995.

It could also be said that Michael Jordan needed to not play a team that had Michael Jordan on it in order to win a championship. The “Jordan” disclaimer is one of the most asinine takes in the history of sports.

People watch First Take? You don't have to have cable to listen to 2 idiots yell at each other. I'm sure you could find a street corner with a couple of homeless people doing that for free. The takes would be just as relevant.

Just like Jordan needed Seattle and Utah to beat the Rockets in the playoffs, so he could win his 6 rings

This is how these shows work...one guy says one thing and the other guy says the opposite thing to create debate. Neither one may believe anything they say, but it gets folks riled up one way or another. They make money, the networks make money, we all get dumber.

Unfortunately, too many people watch these type of shows and they are cheap to make which is why they have multiplied all over TV these days. ESPN, FS1, CNN, FOXNews, MSNBC, etc, etc, etc...

I think one of the most egregious and bad sports takes ever is just this.

Besides being a cultural marvel off the court, besides that Hakeem dominated the golden era of basketball, besides that Hakeem revolutionized the game, besides the gaudy statistics he put up, besides that before Hakeem broke through he had been close on multiple levels....

Yeah, beside all that, it's so egregious that Jordan-only fans think he would've won 8 in a row. He didn't. Nobody ever has, nobody ever will. It's enough that he's the greatest of all time. It's not a knock on Jordan's legacy. In fact, him sitting out IS but hey, we're not so bitter that we harp on it. Are you JOFs really so bitter that you have to degrade one of the most fascinating players ever?

How about this? Jordan needed to step down, lest everyone truly recognize the dominance, the cultural impact and the sheer aura of greatness Hakeem Olajuwon provided to basketball in the early 90s. Yeah. It's like that.

So let me get this straight.

Hakeem's championships were a result of Jordan retiring.
By this logic, all other championships after 98 should also be a result of Jordan retiring, NO? Therefore, all championships after 98 should have an "asterisk"?
